I didn't want a stand that hooked onto the stand I have as they never are set for the right height for how I like to play
If I put the screw through the last hole of each strap and stretch them as far as they'll go, I can secure my keyboard, but then the stand is barely two and a half feet off the ground, which is not a comfortable playing height
I like that I have a portable, collapsible stand, and that the height is adjustable, but the X sort of gets in the way of my knees
With this keyboard stand, I can get it at just the right height to both comfortably stay under the keyboard and still be high enough to overlap with my desk
The height is very adjustable and this is a good keyboard stand

My old one that came with the keyboard would loosen with time and then collapse so I specifically was looking for a replacement stand that had a GREAT and easy locking mechanism.
The locks underneath worked well with our Yamaha electric piano and Yamaha adjustable bench

It's very firm and hard at first (which is a good thing), but after a few seconds you sink into it a couple of inches and become sort of wedged into it
