Reviews around wireless (5.00 of 5)

  • This is by far the best and most reliable wireless lav set on the market
  • This is a very nice wireless set that's as good as any other I've rented

Reviews around sennheiser (5.00 of 5)

  • For those cases, you'll want to either rent gear or save up the extra $200-400 for a good sennheiser kit with multiple transmitters and lav mics
  • I sometimes get dropouts in location situations, however, and the range is very limited because the Sennheiser portable receivers are not diversity systems.
  • High impact plastic but not sure they'd be quite as durable as the Sennheiser set, which are metal cased
  • It's an excellent moderately priced wireless lav system that's just as good as the Sennheiser or anything else we've rented

Reviews around end (5.00 of 5)

  • The lav mic that comes with the set is Rode's top end lav that costs half as much as the price for the entire kit
  • fantastic -- rich bass for nice chest tone, and picks up pleasant high-end sibilance from collar region
  • The included mic sounds quite good and has a nice low-end which is often missing on the built-in mic included with most wireless systems
  • Rode makes a lav microphone with a detachable cord and swappable ends.

Reviews around frequency (5.00 of 5)

  • It's also pretty easy to use since it selects channels automatically and hops to clear frequencies as needed to maintain clear reception
  • It's also pretty easy to use since it selects channels automatically and hops to clear frequencies as needed to maintain clear reception
  • The unit searches for the best wireless frequency at all times3

Reviews around mic (4.45 of 5)

  • You can turn both units on and off from the receiver unit so if the talent pushes the button accidentally you can turn it back on w/o disrupting the program, or you can turn off the talents mic (bathroom break anyone), very nice feature
  • The included mic sounds quite good and has a nice low-end which is often missing on the built-in mic included with most wireless systems
  • Also the audio quality was useless, think the mic has to be broken inside

Reviews around signal (4.21 of 5)

  • It has a pretty nice signal range and will usually cut out if you get too far away
  • It's not quite as immune to interference as I think a digital system should be.
  • Not quite as good as when I hook the Sennheiser lav up to it - the rode is a bit looser sounding compared to the sennheisers tight focused sound, but very usuable regardless
  • I can be in a nuclear fallout shelter with lead walls surrounded by florescent lights and still get a good signal.
  • Good quality sound, the wireless signal was clean, and the levels were really great!!

Reviews around price (4.16 of 5)

  • (Possibly it was due for a replacement, and technology has advanced, but even Senn's answer to this product is double the price)So far happy with testing it around my studio, will update it if it doesn't hold up in the field.
  • Other than these issues, I love the product and the price.
  • Amazing sound with the included lavalier mic and well worth the crazy price tag!

Reviews around audio (3.89 of 5)

  • so why would it destroy the audio once the batteries start getting low???
  • I've used this Lav system to get some really great audio from my interview subjects
  • Excellent Audio for Price... Works flawlessly in crowd 2.4 GHZ environment
  • The audio is clear and crisp and does the job very well

Reviews around system (3.89 of 5)

  • Can't say it better than this"Overall the system works great under perfect circumstances
  • Combine the rode link with the Sennheiser lav and you have a KILLER lav system.
  • Overall the system works great under perfect circumstances
  • But for about 2/3 the cost, I'd say they are a great system overall.
  • The wireless system works flawlessly and I have had no interruption while recording.

Reviews around range (3.37 of 5)

  • It's not quite as immune to interference as I think a digital system should be.
  • I sometimes get dropouts in location situations, however, and the range is very limited because the Sennheiser portable receivers are not diversity systems.
  • It has a pretty nice signal range and will usually cut out if you get too far away
  • Had to held up the receivers usually in a shoulder bag during the whole boat trip, to have a stable range of again about 15m
  • The quality of the audio is amazing and the range on this thing is ridiculous.

Reviews around noise (1.44 of 5)

  • Easy to set up, lightweight and works flawlessly with no interference (in NYC, a frequency overloaded city where Sennheiser ew 112-p were experiencing lots of static noise)
  • I've never gotten consistent noise, but I get little bits in the background once in a while even when at close range.
  • There has been no interference issues and minimal noise
  • Unlike other solutions below this price point, this is a *digital* transmission, which translates to a lower noise floor -- less hum, hiss, dropouts, and spurious noise than with analog transmission
