We have a Roku TV in the bedroom and it was working fine so not the internet
It does everything I expected from Roku and works great except that the remote requires pointing directly at the sensor
Finally, the "sticks" will arbitrarily stop working and freeze which requires a manual restart (unplug and plug back in) A lot of times, those sticks are not easily accessible based on the set up of the TV.
Everything was working great until a few months ago (bought this 2/19)
The older Roku keeps working just fine and nothing else is having an issue connecting except this
and then it gradually started producing a more static picture and sound
No buffing great sounds the picture is clear and colorful.
Picture seems sharper on Netflix, sound is great through my surround sound receiver
The remote drains the batteries, the buffering is very slow when I stream Netflix, when I’m watching something on Netflix, the picture is blurry... and my router is in the same room!
From here you can spend hours exploring various "free" channels you can add.
I also love the fact that I can pick and choose my Channels and not be bombarded the Unwanted Music channels and Sports channels that your forced to have on DirectTV, Xfinity and Dish with your Subscription.
Lots of free channels and if you have streaming services (especially if you have Prime) its so much easier to get to.
No problems loading my channels in after I got done mumbling about cheap short cords and got everything in place
this was the perfect way to watch Netflix, Hulu and tons of free channels
If you are looking for a good streaming device look no further
And since you can't work the device without the remote, it's essentially worthless after 6 months.
This is the best device ROKU has made, plus it is easy to setup and use
I have had many problems with this device churning away and losing the signal, then blaming my internet connection
Compared to the Amazon FireStick in the same price range this device is not as polished, the remote lacks a volume control and feels "cheap" in comparison.
It will detect the network and report a strong signal, but it will refuse to connect and report “not connected”
n’t dislike
Bottom Line:You can now get a Roku device to replace your cable TV box & service or to replace an antenna for free local network TV.And of course you can create your own custom TV experience that simply is not possible with cable or antenna TV.
Worked fine for 2.5 months then started saying poor network connection or no network.
And my final issue is that this is capable of 4K and not having an ethernet port is disappointing.
Looking through Roku's support forums, this seems to be a known issue, with the cord and/or power adapter defective, yet nothing has been done to fix it
I recently purchased a new 4K smart TV.
after 3 months of usage , I'm having daily issues if connectivity even though I'm next door to my Wow router .Will have to call Roku , but I hear this is a known issue , very frustrating
