I love roku, we have an older model in another room & this newer one has great features including tv volume control on the remote & power button
Now and so I had to get a streaming box for the At&t app since it doesnt work on the PlayStation 4
I gave 2 stars because when it works, it is very user friendly and a great features such as the ability to control volume from the remote, and the lost remote finder
Remote ease of use with earphone and volume control is a great feature
I also love the lost remote feature, which will come in handy with kids who "forget" where they put the remote

Had previous models but the speed and picture quality are a lot better than previous models.
Better response on the remote, improved picture quality, better sound and
Quality is inferior, the buttons are weeker...meanning you must press down for several seconds to get any feature to work and in some cases, it needs to be repeated twice or three times.
Sound quality through headphone jack questionable but works, love the fact it will turn tv on and off plus volume controls

Upgraded .y old roku very nice product and happy with the unit
Very good product don't need to have satellite any more
I hope they fix this because it's truly a great product.
If it goes in the mail today, I will be without the ability to watch TV for 10-20 days because of their defective product and incompetence.
Then for the first time, they told me that I had to send the defective product back first and that I had to pay for the return of their DEFECTIVE device.

I put up with this until last month when my cable company decided to reconfigure their digital transmissions, requiring an adapter to unscramble their now-scrambled channels
but if you have WiFi, there's a lot of available free channels to add.
I was able to grab so many channels - even ones like Curiosity Stream that I had been dragging my feet to sign up for because I didn't have a way to stream to the TV.
The old Roku usually 'lost' my program and started adding unwanted channels which I had to manually delete, wasting valuable time before I could begin exercising
A wide variety of good shows on Netflix plus a few good free channels such as the Roku channel.

I do like the remote is simple in design, but the lack of buttons means more work when typing things out
Lack of mute button on the Roku remote is also a glaring omission to me
It didn't like the 4K on my 75" vizio, but we still like the better performance and the ability to plug it into Ethernet cable for faster performance.
Setup was a breeze and there is quite a bit of 4K HDR Atmos titles available on the Vudu app.
We recently purchased a 4K Smart TV, and even tho' it is a smart TV, I still use the Roku, for some reason the TV freezes from time to time when I try to stream

The other issue with the remote is the extremely noisy buttons
Plus if you lose it, click a button on the box and the remote makes noises so you can find it
The voice-driven remote control is a welcome feature, but buttons and arrows still work well too
The nagging aspect of this is that I use a Harmony remote to manage the TV, streamer, DVD, etc., which HAS those convenient buttons, but three-quarters of them do not work
Excellent remote with good button “feel” love the tv power and volume controls

So bottom line, if you don't mind handing Roku a credit card number for them to potentially abuse, you will like the Roku device itself

The other problem with the XS is no support for the 5GHz router band
Roku's support insinuated that it's my reciever's fault for not being up to date with the newest standard, But if they think that my very nice, expensive, and very much still working in ALL ways with my Xbox and PS4 AVR is getting binned due to their BS update they have another thing coming.

Every few days i get an hdcp error and the screen freezes
But the most important flaw is the continuous, random, entertainment-busting "HDCP unauthorized" messages that popup during the use of any app, including YouTube and Netflix.
It has an annoying purple screen HDCP and keep blocking the content on my new Samsung 2017 model
When it worked, it was fine but it continually had HDCP errors and intermittent audio when first turned on
While my current TV and HDMI cable are capable of streaming 4K content/output, HDCP 2.2 is something pretty new, that isn't available in many 4K HDMI chords, and that is not made clear prior to purchasing the box

Roku should have included a motion-sensing lighted remote for their "premium" device, because, especially after tearing the stupid purple tag off of the bottom with pliers, the remote feels the same regardless of orientation
