It's well built and easy to work with for installing the 2.5 inch hard drive,

If you're mounting hard drives, it means you'll have better heat dissipation.

On the down side, you can not mount the bottom SSD/hard drive from the bottom holes.

The idea of having a small fan to help contain temperatures makes sense and helps protect your drive

On the plus side, this bracket will hold two SSD or laptop hard drives

It's sized correctly for two solid state drives and a 3.5" bay, but that's about all they got right

Plus it only really accommodates a slim drive like a SSD, anything thicker like a 2.5" 15K enterprise drive won't fit in the bottom set of holes due to the tray looking tabs for the top drive.

The screws were a little tricky to place on to the SSD hard drive that I put on this, it didnt seem to align perfectly with the holes on the SSD drive, it took some work to get all the screws

If you do so, however, the solid state drive nearest the fan will block air flow to the second.

Its great because i had a brand new laptop hard drive that i wasn't using for anything, now i can take advantage of it for use as a backup drive in my desktop without it just floating around in the case

This isn't some fancy mounting technique, either - ever hard drive has these screw holes on the bottom.

Cables can be a little difficult to connect to hard drive once mounted as the 2.5" hard drive sits back from the end of the bracket a little ways

Didn't realize before purchasing that my computer only mounts hard drives vertically, from the bottom of drive, which this bracket does NOT support

Not really a solution if you have two solid state drives and want to cool both of them.

It is good for most computers when mounting a 2.5" SSD drive to a 3.5" bay/slot, but if your case has removable drawers and the hard drive mounting screws are the underside four you'll be outta luck

The fan moves more than enough air to keep the drives cool.

have one bracket that's over a year old and the fan still works quietly and even if it died then the worse case would be that your drive would be subject to warming up just like it would have in any other adapter without a fan

I wanted something for extra cooling of the 1Tb Seagate Hard Drive I have installed in the front bay of my Gateway computer

I bought this unit to properly mount a laptop hard drive (2.5" SATA) in an external hard drive enclosure

It came with enough screws to mount 2 hard drives (or SSD's) and to mount it on the computer case

My Gateway has a two slot bay in the front for hard drives, so I put this in the bottom bay blowing up toward the top bay with the hard drive

Good for 2.5" hard drives to be installed in desktop computers

There really isn't much one can say about a hard drive mount

Just make sure before ordering that your case does not require the hard drive to be screwed in using the bottom holes instead of the side.

As others have mentioned, it is a little tedious getting the small hard drive screws in with the bracket in the way - but nothing terrible

great idea; went with other reviewer recommendation and swapped fan with Vantec Stealth SF6025L - yes you do have to reverse mount the fan if mounting 2 drives (vs the way it comes in the package, but if you want added airflow in a tight space this is perfect) - some complain that it only cools one drive which i guess is true - but why not just flip the fan to pull the air across/away from the drives
