A great RPG combining Harvest Moon with a blend of dungeon crawling
I've played Harvest Moon games since it was on the PS1, have played Rune Factory 2 and 3, and I love RPG and life simulator games like Animal Crossing games,
If you like rpg, storyline and fighting with the chances of love then this is for you.
I adore Bravely Default - but it has one of the blandest stories in a GOOD RPG I've played in awhile.
It's almost like a mix of Harvest Moon, Pokemon, and a classic RPG all rolled into one
Cons-There is zero voice acting in this game other then the occasional "Hello" or catchphrase, which is weird because they have a lot of famous voice actors in it like Vic Mignogna, Melissa Fahn, Yuri Lowenthal, and so on.-The bachelors/bachelorettes can be pretty one-dimensional or cliche at times.-No homo
One of the best games I've ever played spent more then 100 hours on itThe plot and story is really good and made me cry a lot ( in a good way
There's a lot of friendship potential in this game, and I love that I have a choice of most of the townsfolk to bring with me into fights
There's also different difficulty levels, which I appreciate a lot
This is just the type of game I love, lots of RPG elements, a fun combat mechanic, and all that anyone would love in a Harvest Moon game
And the Game is AMAZING, beautiful graphic, great story line and characters
The game is very light-hearted, chock full of humour and great characters and the story is quite good as well
I fell in love with the plot line, the story that you followed, but then the actual game started moving forward
The art work is great, its humorous story and heartwarming characters pulled me into the game, the music is wonderful
You run from dungeon to dungeon freeing `guardians' and at points when the game could honestly throw the player for a solid twist... the story just seems to shrug it's shoulders in a big `eh
However, the farming and other boring chores are very much tempered by the dungeon's, storyline, and family fun adventure
It is very concise and developed having both easy and advanced aspects to farming
The battling is fun, the characters are hilarious, and the farming is fun.
I wanted to try a harvest moon type game but was worried the farming would get boring after a while and ended picking this up since it looked like there was more variety in activities.
Great characters, great farming mechanics, engaging combat and a fun story.
It works much better than Rune Factory 1, where the player often had no idea where to get their tools or had to do silly things like tilling land in a cave to gain a permit to the next area
Great game real similar to animal crossing but some things are harder to accoplish like the whole marriage thing.
There are so many wonderful things about this game that I'd make this review super long if I listed and spoke about each one
One thing that I didn't take advantage of much in the other Rune Factory games, is befriending a monster and taking it with me to fight
It certainly wasn't the case, and I disliked the way in which I felt forced to have to fight in the game to gain more farming things
Kill enemies, fight bosses and find loot that you can sell off or use
The combos were redonk, you could stun enemies, throw them for even more damage and the ultimate attack sent you flying across the map out of danger

For the first time in the series, the player can select to play as a male or female hero, and potential suitors of either gender are also available in order to pursue love, marriage, and possibly a child
As the newly-appointed prince or princess, you can fulfill your royal duties of protecting the town from invaders, or take a more rural approach to governing by raising your own fruits and vegetables and helping townsfolk
Should some dungeon adventuring be on the day’s itinerary, you can select from the castle’s vast armament of swords, spears, and staffs along with magic for battle against dangerous foes, or even bring along a companion or friendly monster to aid you during your travels.
