The case works great.

Connecting the same internal SSD drive to my laptop via a Stardeck.com cable worked just fine.... returned this cheap case for a refund.

The only negative is that this case feels very cheap.

The case is sturdy and the supplied cable is nice and thick which hopefully means that it uses a larger sized set of wires

This little case was easy enough and straightforward enough that I was able to salvage my hard drive and access it onto an older laptop.

As one of the cheapest prime cases out there, what is not to love

Having it Tool-Free, it made it easier to remove and insert the SSD.There is a piece of hard sponge inside the casing which helps the casing to be secure with the SSD inside

Great replacement case for a portable HDD that I had go bunk, but honestly I'd use these to turn all my laptop drives into externals

Turns out proprietary cabling (which I don't have) is needed, so an external case/adapter seemed like a reasonable way to go

The instruction illustrations were helpful but being given some assurance one would not break the case to press the hard drive into the padding would have assuage my concerns and perhaps others

This simple little box was fantastic - I just removed the hard drive from the unbootable computer, installed it in the external case (hard to open but a butter knife did the trick), and viola: there are all my files ready to be transferred to the new laptop

As others point out, it is a plastic case with just a block of foam to secure the drive into the connector
