Connecting the same internal SSD drive to my laptop via a Stardeck.com cable worked just fine.... returned this cheap case for a refund.

This Sabrent 2.5 inch drive case worked great with the included cable - connected to laptop USB port and used Macrium Reflect free to clone the failing drive to a new SSD temporarily housed in this case

It doesn't give you the protection of having your drive in a case but works way better.

It was simple to install the old HDD in the Sabrent enclosure and it seems to be working well connected by way of USB 2.0.
