I question the quality of some of the hardware, but the neck and body alone are worth more to
Pickups arnt quite as bad as other say, bridge, tail piece and tuners were quite good neck, body, and fretboard were very good in my case but dont expect to much from the pots/wired you can buy new internal hardware for $20 or so
this neck feels good in your hand and fits the pocket nice and tight and the frets are mostly level with only one fret that needs to be taken down slightly ......love that the headstock pegboard is left oversize so you can customize it however you choose
Also, the pick ups sound pretty descent, the neck feels good, the weight of the guitar is not too much nor is it too light.

First thing though get a better set of tuners, also drill out the holes in the body where the neck screws attach, the four screws should slide through those holes easily
Based on other reviews I had seen, I didn't even bother with the Saga strings, used a good set of D'Addarios that I had and got a good set of strap locks instead of the strap lugs that came with the kit.
Get yourself a good set of Ernie Ball slinkys instead.

Some complain about the crack filler/sealer...that it interferes with getting a nice grain appearance if you go with something other than a solid color.
As far as paint i reccomend going to the Stewart Mcdonald website, lots of good color
I think this would be fine for a beginner build kit or even for even spraying a solid color, but there are other kits for $50 more that will suit you better if you want to get fancy
I masked off the top and gave the sides and back a light transparent color coat, then pulled off the masking and gave everything a couple coats of clear.

I figured I would do a dry fit and make sure everything worked as it should before I do any of the finishing, and it did!
After you've finished painting or staining the body and putting a clear coat on it and the
Your not going to be able to stain or dye it as the maple veneer is like 1/16" thick under like 1/4" of some kind of clear coat

The instructions were pretty clear but left out some minor bits of detail that I had to work out on my own but not being a novice to building things, it wasn't a big issue at all.
It was easy enough to put together, and for the most part the instructions were easy to understand and were fairly accurate.
The neck is perfectly straight and fingerboard is real nice quality rosewood...nice and smooth with what appears to be a 14" radius which I love i like an old style flat

If you love guitars and are looking for a top quality project, this is the one!
but I've got better quality hardware and pups/pots to go in it
The body is nice quality nice weight and no flaws with a really nice grain to the wood

Everything was there and looked to be in pretty good shape...particularly the body and the neck.
When you get this kit the neck will be tight, to install it lay the body down on a table or flat surface, line the neck up and push straight down
After curing the body was then shot over a matter of another couple of weeks with 10 coats of clear (remember that temperature and humidity have an effect on drying times
The body and neck were fine, but the kit was missing parts (the socket where you place your cable jack), and several wires literally crumbled during construction.
He said in his opinion the guitar would be worth between $400 and $500
What is the point of having a nice figured guitar top if you are going to paint it anyhow
i bought this guitar as a gift for my Paster and when he finely got it all done the switch for the pick-ups didn't work and u can't get anyone from saga to call
The guitar is like a piece of black glass and the chrome hardware really stands out
but, If you change 2 things you will have an excellent mid-grade guitar
