You can adjust what noise it picks up, although mine really loves the sound of my cooling fan over anything else.

I'm tempted to say it's the perfect laptop mic, clipping to the top cover more securely than the Snowflake, whereas the Yeti is ideal for desktop use, producing rich-sounding recordings rivaling those of a professional studio's Shure SM7B mics.

I put it on a stand and set it about six inches away from my mouth in order to achieve a "radio voice" effect, and in that setup the sound is very rich but *slightly* muddy

I can't say for sure whether the sound is better (I'm by no means an audio expert, and the snowball was just too quiet to really be sure), but I feel like the snowball was warmer sounding, but this mic seems more natural/accurate, if that makes sense.

You have to literally be about 6-12inches away from the mic, if you are too close the audio sounds HORRIBLE, and if you are even slightly too far it also sounds horrible

If you're into a simple, great sound on the cheap, I'd say this is it; though, I haven't tried any other USB mics.
