A little pricey for a drive, but absolutely phenomenal performance!
Replaced my internal hard drive, great performance improvement
I knew my hard drive was a bottleneck and by going with SSD I would see a great performance improvement
I am sure that it is worth to try it with older notebooks because the HDD is usually the weakest part of the chain and you would most probably waste money for new notebook as same as I did
This will definitely improve your pc performance and is reliable.
Definitely a worthy upgrade if you have a slightly older laptop slowing down
This was a great upgrade and it is working flawlessly so far.

Use to be RAM was the most significant upgrade you could do, now it's RAM and an SSD.

Install here was a little harder here as this HP15 laptop has no external access drive bay and required case disassembly.

Worked good at first then only after 5 months, PC just reports unrecognizable drive and can't even do a fresh install of windows.
so other than the inoperable install software, I LOVE my new drive.
This SSD is being used as the system drive and Windows 10 (64 bits) was installed from ISO media (clean install) also without any problems
coming from a 850 and now an 860, awesome SSD, easy to install and as good as always
Works as it should, keeps the PC a lot cooler and less noise.
I’ve bought over 400 Samsung drives over the last 6 years to use as upgrades for my customers Microsoft and Mac OS computers as well as in our custom build, I
I experience, not including other components such as power supply failures, mobile rack failures, memory failures (short product longevity a serious and growing issue within the computing hardware sector and centered about pushing production yield figures too hard)

I have quite a few, including the 500gb 860 EVO, older 840’s and 850’s that seem to last forever, as well

It did detect it as a USB attached hard drive, but says that the software is incompatible with the drive.
Only issue was the Samsung Magician software not detecting the drive as genuine - which was easy to fix by hunting for the latest Samsung Magician software under their support.
Drive is nice and fast and Samsung Magician software helps manage the drive.
The magician software that they advertise in the package is totally worthless as far as I am concerned
Cloning my previous hard drive was simple and fast with the Samsung Magician free software download
Replaced a laptop hard drive that had gone bad for my grandson-in-law
A massive performance upgrade that transformed a cheap laptop.
I bought a 1TB version for my PC build before, and works nicely in there, today my laptop's hard drive broke down, and I bought this 500 G version for my laptop, and OMG, it's fast!
I used to have a SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) in my laptop, and I thought that was pretty fast, but after 3 years I needed to change and this upgrade showed me how slow my laptop really was
While the laptop was a complete pain to disassemble to install the drive, the drive works great and Samsung's Magician toolkit has handy features in it.

Samsung Data Migration was fast, but it's flawed; so don't blindly trust it or you may ended up losing your data
How many times have you lost valuable data because the HD has failed you

In my case, my source hard drive also had 2 additional primary partitions with important data, software and projects I support and work on.
SSD.My clone process was aborted at first, because the HDD was reporting a problem - so I first had to
None the less, I suspect any HDD to SSD conversion will yield some speed gain.
I fixed up my father's computer last weekend as his current system was having issues, and after I'd done some work it was fairly clear that his slow HDD was the culprit
If I don't, more reason to get one and junk that HDD! !
Upgraded my HDD to SDD over the weekend, placed my non essential files on a HDD secondary and now my OS boots up within seconds, games run lightning fast
I have quite a few, including the 500gb 860 EVO, older 840’s and 850’s that seem to last forever, as well
Using a computer with SSD's in it isn't something I'm willing to ever downgrade from because using a computer with slow spinning hard disks makes me thing something is seriously wrong with those slow operating computers.
If you're considering replacing an old spinning hard drive, this is a good choice
If transferring to a spinning hard drive (rather than SSD solid state) you may need a power supply to the HD, as well as the cable
Purchased this drive for a backup drive to replace our old spinning hard drives.
