So its clearly not something they intend for end users to do, but its the only thing keeping me from returning this awesome panel
Since the LED panel is about 80% of what makes up the item, the rest being an external power supply, a little electronics and the mechanical case, this essentially means there is no warranty on about 80% of the monitor.
This panel performs really well with regard to framerate, tearing and color rendition
It's a $150 non-negotiable charge if the LED panel fails.
When I pushed back on this, the only answer I could get from them was that "the LED panel failed and that isn't warranty."
If you follow the instructions provided, setup is a breeze: remove the stand from the box, lift the top styrofoam, attach the stand to the display still in the box, press the cable cover on, then lift the monitor out by the stand and set on desk
I'm thinking curved displays might make a good two- monitor setup
This monitor looks and works excellent - and I hate to criticize it at all because it truly looks like a work of art on my desk; but, I have to admit that the problems started almost immediately due to how it's setup to prefer an HDMI connection
Super simple setup, good mechanical strength and outstanding performance.
Setup was straightforward, except that you'll need a coin of some sort in order to screw the stand in
A video showing easy assembly of the monitor- Comparison of pure black (black levels were the same for both screens)- Comparison of lighting near the top of the screen (see CONS above)- Photo showing some unfortunate reflective properties of the Samsung screen (the sharp angle adds emphasis)- Photos of the packaging and
It does reflect room lighting to some degree.- I have long thought that curved screens are a gimmick, and they are to some extent, but on a screen this large sitting just a few feet away, it does seem to help keep the picture from looking skewed at the left and right.- Assembly was ridiculously easy
That means that glare is greatly reduced, though not as well as it could be (see
Dark color saturation is as good as on any monitor I've ever seen
I have noticed that my eyes do not strain as much as they did with my last LG monitor (which is now a secondary monitor).
them! Not sure if there was just a bad run of the 27" monitors or what, but I cannot in good faith recommend them to anyone!Pros:Great resolution for every-day workCurved screen is very attractiveProduct design looks niceCons:2 out of 3 didn't work right out of the boxFlimsy standAll in all I'm happy with the way that Amazon handled the
but it needs to come with at least 100Hz refresh rate and a better resolution.
However, the resolution (and 60hz refresh rate, for that matter) is just fine for console gaming (Xbox, PS4) because, as I understand it, they can't utilize additional power like a high-powered gaming PC might.
great resolution, great for gaming feels like I am in the game
I appreciate the higher resolution, that for work is problematic, was an added bonus in gaming
Can't think of anything else negative, this is a really nice display and the cost feels reasonable to me
The display is matte, and does a fair job limiting reflection.
I have noticed that my eyes do not strain as much as they did with my last LG monitor (which is now a secondary monitor).
This display is very vibrant and is working perfectly as a gaming monitor.
It is 1440p - getting a 1080p on a 27" monitor is a nono because you will fond with larger displays you might find it is not as sharp and stretched resolution, but with 1440p the display is crisp and sharp2
Dark color saturation is as good as on any monitor I've ever seen
This monitor is perfect on that front, and works flawlessly with Samsung DeX.It took a while to get the settings right, and I ultimately found that the 'dynamic contrast' mode was ideal
Contrast between light and dark was dramatically enhanced.
Finally, it's white, which while a terrible contrast with my gaming setup with almost all-black components still looks good on its own
The blacks are good deep dark that you can see a good contrast
Yes, built- in speakers are almost always bad quality, but this monitor's raison d'être clearly was to be stylish
It's gorgeous- high quality picture, pixels work, software is OK, all that
This monitor only offers up to 60Hz - for most people that is fine (including me) but if you are looking to find a monitor with this quality and 144Hz Refresh Rate be ready to spend 3x as much as this Monitor is

I have noticed that my eyes do not strain as much as they did with my last LG monitor (which is now a secondary monitor).
The curve, colors, resolution, buttons, cables, thin bezels, and styling are all very nice
I have not tested it for gaming as I am not a gamer but for photo/video editing, this is a good curved monitor
This monitor worked very well for video editing due to the long/wide screen, using AutoCAD (which was pleasantly surprising as I didn't think I would like drawing straight lines for architectural drawings on a curved screen) and of course watching Netflix on it was superb!I'll admit, at first the curve of the monitor seemed gimmicky to me and didn’t seem to make much of a noticeable difference
The curve looks very cool, the monitor's body thickness looks natural; it plays the part of looking engaging for the user.
The colors are good and the curve is great while gaming.
I love the look over everything on this and you have bright colors and high
I tried to get a photo, but photographing monitors is difficult because strange looking moire patterns develop
*Unfortunately, to achieve the seamless look, Samsung had to make a particularly detrimental compromise: the stand, there is no other way of putting it, is ergonomically awful
The look of it is very sleek and modern, like you'd see in a posh office (on tv).The monitor was very easy to set up, it was pretty much assembled in the box
This is a very good looking device, but not a very future proof one
