You make your own choices as to how you evaluate products).-The black levels were great
Some level of detail was lost on background objects in most scenes (as is expected when watching 3D), but the detail on objects that were the main focus of the scene were above & beyond better than I expected.
Again the black levels were fantastic and colors seem true to life.
There are 3 secrets to getting great black levels, actually
Watching normal movies is fine, but watching movies that are dark overall reveals that the set seems to be crushing the black levels.
Even is the TV is incredibly thin, it still has a powerful and clear sound
Really, the sound was actually physically painful to listen to until I adjusted the levels within the equalizer.
For a TV, the sound can be good, but the default sound is horribly muddy as are all of the choices except Clear Voice.
every one minute or so there is a very brief (split second) sound interruption
newer HDMI standards appear- free one terabyte external USB HDD with 10 movies and a bunch of demos (temporary promotion, so get it while you can)Cons:- really, really bad off-axis image- blacks seem to be crush in dark scenes- Mediocre sound, but better than the average set- Setup a bit
If you only have standard definition TV available in 4:3 format, it will be stretched to 16:9 with no option to preserve the original aspect distorting the image
I have the image fairly bright for regular TV and dimmer for movies.
I recommend to buy this tv is excellent very good image
If you have a mediocre Blu-ray disc, the image from the Samsung will be mediocre as well
this TV represents some of the best image quality available on 2014 LED TV's.
The only problem I have with this TV is how slow the apps are.
Obvious their Smart TV apps and options are top of the market
4k netflix is very cool, the picture quality is a big improvement over my old TV and the blacks and detail in dark scenes is very niceAlso the smart TV apps work well and are very nice
All of the smart apps were easy to set up and working just fine
Regarding the software/apps on the TV: The app I use most frequently is Netflix, but it hasn't worked for me for several days
I usually put the tv in game mode and I haven't really noticed any input lag
I never thought that i would find a TV that would make me feel totally cool leaving my Kuro Elite 9G behind
Also how does the input lag compare to that of the sonyxbr65x850b (the other 3000 dollar sony competitor) because I am a big gamer
The only opportunities I've noticed are like all LED's, it struggles just a bit with fast paced live sports and the UHD upscaling causes some noticeable input lag with gaming, which can be remedied by utilizing gaming mode and adjusting the picture settings so the graphics don't suffer
For this model, initially Samsung used a T-GFP chipset that fully supports 4K@60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma
I purchased this model several months ago and although I love the picture... the problems with slow menu controls that lock up and the horrible loading and buffering the television does is enough for me to call this television a piece of
Have used it almost a year without significant problems.
Only problem is the frequent loss of audio/picture sync which may be dependent on the playback medum at the station.
The 2nd and 3rd self diagnostic test pictures are all gray scales which do show the problem, BUT you can't see these images unless you tell your TV that it failed the 1st self diagnostic picture (which of course is designed NOT to show this darkening problem)(5
When streaming a video, it doesn't matter the source whether it be Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Hulu or my own movie collection on PLEX, I get an intermittent problem where a status popup shows up on the top half of the screen indicating the TV has lost a network connection.
It is a 4K TV and even though there isn't any 4K content yet without getting movie on a hard drive and paying out the nose
I am not sure if these tech realize that the hard drive is their 4K media player
EVEN 3 D IS VERY IMPRESSIVE AND PLEASING TO TH EYES
I tell him about the hard drive and that it is their 4K media player and would accept this issue on non 4K content but not with 4K content
Star Trek is a movie off of the 4K media player which is nothing but a hard drive which connects to the TV through the one USB3 port on the back of the set
After only a few months of use, the television is now displaying a vertical line of dead/stuck pixels on the screen.
After only a year and a half, the LCD panel went bad as dead pixels began to appear on the screen
Very rich colors, great black level and no discernible pixels
The more pixels you add, the more pronounced this issue becomes.
I'm usually one that can stomach 1 or 2 dead individual pixels if I've used the product for awhile, but the line is extremely obvious especially on brighter background images.
