I bought this radio to replace a tivolo radio (which is a fantastic product in its own right) and have not been disappointed at all.
This is the third Sangean radio that I have purchased and it is an excellent product line.
Product was dead after 2 months - not sure why
I would recommend this product if you are looking for a good quality portable radio, clock, alarm and more.
I have considered retuning it several times because its alarm and a/c are losers; keeping it because the digital radio tunes in one local station (WDNA 88.9 FM jazz) that usually is lost because of crowded, dirty bandwidth.
I live in a very poor reception area in central Florida
I had bought an inexpensive radio from a big-box store but it was shoddy, poor reception, poor quality sound
This radio is a bit pricey but has great sound, is sturdy and picks up quite a few stations for being inside concrete and cinderblock in a very rural area, it has attracted quite the attention from co-workers because radios here get very poor reception.
The reception is good and the sound great for such a small radio, better than larger old portable radios I have.
I bought this radio because it was supposed to have good reception.
And since I was going to put it in the corner and forget about it, I did not want to pay the hefty price tag for a Tivoli or similar
I have considered retuning it several times because its alarm and a/c are losers; keeping it because the digital radio tunes in one local station (WDNA 88.9 FM jazz) that usually is lost because of crowded, dirty bandwidth.
Summarizing - A good small radio well worth its modest price ($42 on sale for me)
Based on the solid price the overall AM & FM sound is above average
I got mine for $42 at the time of purchase and that is a fair price for how good this radio is
Good reception, clear, strong signal and easy controls.
We like the Sangean RCR-22 atomic clock radio we bought from Amazon a while ago, despite its somewhat funky controls
I have considered retuning it several times because its alarm and a/c are losers; keeping it because the digital radio tunes in one local station (WDNA 88.9 FM jazz) that usually is lost because of crowded, dirty bandwidth.
controls are very intuitive...and the instructions a crystal clear.
This is a nice radio EXCEPT because the silly volume control...from level 0 (mute) to level 1 = too loud to listen in a quiet
