This was the cheapest MIDI to USB converter that i could find, at about six dollars with shipping it was a great deal compared to others with prices that I've seen in the $30-$50 dollar range

i plug it into my keyboard (a cheesey casio with midi plugs) and then into my computer and its a perfect connection for use with garage band.

I have an older electronic drum set that uses the MIDI hookups and not the modern USB connection, so this was perfect.

Works just as advertised in Windows 7 64 bit -- installation is only a matter of connecting a midi device to your computer, and turning it on
