As other reviewers said, the holes in the top plate and the base for the speaker wire are a joke, but I didn't need to use them.

As others have mentioned, the "cable management" hole in the top plate is useless.

Perhaps my biggest concern is how small the top plate is

the long pieces that connect the base to the top platform are split while inserting the long screws.

While it does lack a channel on top platform to hide speaker

so one of my stands only has 3 screws for the top platform (instead of 4)

Use a hand screw-driver, and when you have to tighten the 4 screws down for the top platform, don't just screw them down completely one by one

Finish on the pieces is very nice, looks classy, nice texture feel

I'd still buy again, because the price is right and the assembled product looks good (enough -- I am still unsure on the aesthetic of speakers over a sound bar) and is functional/stable

Over all it's a great product and goes well with out entertainment center.

I have used these stands on carpet in my last place and now hardwood floors, and in both cases they significantly improved the sound versus putting them on the floor, table, or shelves.

Upon assembly the pillars cracked when tightening the screws into 3 of the pillars with pre drilled holes.

Built sturdy and will hold a good size bookshelf speaker, had some screws missing but was able to find some to finish the assembly, like the matte black finish.

Great speaker stands, bought these for the bedroom, ordered the BF 31 for the Family Room

If you know what they are, they're heavy damn speakers, but the stands hold 'em up just fine, on carpet, no spikes

Easy to assemble, made very precise of durable wood material, coated for protection and good design.

These stands may not have the "name brand" but it is made of the right material, balanced, the right weight, and the correct proportion of the floor and speaker base

Flush with confidence, I took a little less care with the second stand and managed to misalign one of the sharp tipped screws, easily screwing it into the soft material with no more effort than had it been in the predrilled hole.

If the legs are tilted or angled away from vertical the screws will split the wood

Now they're not without design flaws as many have called out here but there are also ways around these flaws

My speakers are about 14" H x 7" W x 9" D, and they work great.

Briefly:--------I ordered these stands to hold a pair of satellite speakers on a 7.1 setup and I am currently using them but the few design flaws have created major problems and, while I am using them now, I would not order them today, knowing what I know now

I split one piece when the screw missed the hole and had to glue it together

Also, use some sticky Blue-Tak or a square piece of rubberized shelving cover material under the speakers to help "glue" them to the stand securely

When I contacted the company to inquire about the possibility of them selling two bases to replace the too small top pieces, I was asked many questions about why I wanted what I wanted and given advise I wasn't seeking

After that I did the same with the top piece and after they were snug I torqued them down but not too much in consideration of the apparent softness of the material.

Not high end, be careful when putting in the plastic feet, maybe use a pair of pliers to make sure it goes in straight, or it can break the particle board.

If the stands are out of the traffic pattern, which they should be, they will not be bumped, will not move, and hence will not damage a wood floor or other surface, nor will they be knocked over.

If you plan to put these stands on hard floor (and not use the spiked carpet feet provided), I suggest that you attach felt feet of about 1/4 inch.

If you have a hard floor, as I do, and if you were born with a brain, then use it

I also used a little wood glue on each pillar so the hairline crack is no big deal
