Sanus BF24B 24 Inch Speaker Stands (Pair)

    • When I assembled these, I missed a pre-drilled hole on one of the vertical pieces and drove a screw about 1/8" into the material.
    • I didn't buy smaller screws or re-drill the holes like some other reviewers
    • I suspect that most if not all of the splitting reported has been caused by the screws missing the pre-drilled holes
    • One stand was fine, the other's holes were misaligned so that, when assembled, the gap between the two front pieces is noticeably wider at the base.
    • As other reviewers said, the holes in the top plate and the base for the speaker wire are a joke, but I didn't need to use them.
    • "FRAGILE".I think the main reason so many people are splitting when screwing together is that the stuff is so soft you can easily miss the pilot holes.
    • The hole on the top for the speaker-wire management is pointless, and like others I ran mine out of the back of the stand and looped the wire into my bookshelf speakers.
    • Design flaw # 2 - Tiny hole at the center of the speaker base - no
    • I bought these stands and the first set was defective the holes seemed to be drilled wrong so the wood split however the design is pretty nice and for the price the set is nice
    • I split one piece when the screw missed the hole and had to glue it together
    • I also recommend not trusting the pilot holes and screwing the screws half way in and out before assembly to properly set the path and avoid misalignment
    • I agree that the hole on the top platform is useless, I just run the cable behind
    • I found out the 14-gague wire didn't fit through the top hole, so I had to strip off the outer insulation and just run the red and black wires through the hole
    • Yes, the hole for the speaker wire in the middle of the top plate makes one wonder what the heck the designer was thinking
    • i'll make this short.easy assembly.good quality materials.steady.and most important - they've thought of the little things, such as the back cover for the cables.the only downside is the top hole for the cables is a bit small, and there is no niche on the base for cables
    • When driving in a screw, it's easy to miss the pilot hole and drive it into the soft MDF instead - which quickly responds by splitting
