With metal tube speaker stands you can pour sand into them to make for a very stable and well damped speaker platform

I am using them to hold the front left and right speakers from an Onyko 7.1 speaker set

My front door often bumps one of my stands when I enter my house, the speaker and stand don't seem to move.
