I ended up using one post that I cut in two, and the height is perfect
These stands are the ideal height to sit beside my prime listening position, and they are stable, holding speakers that weigh 15 pounds or so without any issue
(twin 6.5" speakers)and the 30" height is perfect when sitting on the couch in my living room.
Also, the felt at the bottom allows me to move the stand around, without fear of scratching the hardwood floors and as a bonus the height is perfect for running the speaker wires underneath and through the back hole, without getting them pinched
A lot of that was because the speakers were at a good listening height, rather than being on top of bookshelves
The backing plates that hide the speaker wires is a little finicky...but over all decent
After both plastic cover being done, start to screw the bottom plate and the top plate to the pillar.
The screw that holds the top plate in place has somehow stripped, please note that they were only screwed in once during assembly, and not wrenched down
The dimensions of the top plate shown on the Second Image are not completely correct.
After a year or so, the top plate has become very very loose, causing the speakers to wobble if someone walks by
Good quality stands, cherry color matches Philips ribbon speakers.
Great quality and the wood matched my Polk Monitors 40's near perfectly
They isolate sound quality very well, that is, the points of contact to the speakers and floor are minimal, so the sound comes through perfectly without being muffled and doesn't transfer to the floor at all
I would recommend these versions over the black because i read too many negative reviews about cheap quality on the black ones
