If the edges of the vinyl around the scratch are rough, using blue making tape to mask off the scratch so only the scratch and a slight edge is exposed and then use #0000 steel wool to smooth it out, then fill it with crayon

Instead of applying the laminate to where it wraps around each visible side (as with the valance piece), the shelves and vertical pieces reveal unattractive edges, which I can only describe as sort of a white line.

1.5 hours later the thing is done, with the piece on the bottom upside down and showing an unfinished edge, and the whole thing wobbles from side to side.

Very poor finish, raw edges, middle drawer face too long so when it closes it jams on right drawer

Wood is thin veneer over particle board with rough edges which is very noticeable on top.

Very sturdy and good looking piece of furniture when built, however, mine came with the holes drilled on the wrong side of the top shelf piece, which meant the unfinished edge was facing the front

I attempted to convey my disappointment over how the laminate was applied to the various pieces of this unit where some edges just seemed unattractive.

As with a great many (perhaps not all) ready to assemble products these days, some edges are just very prone to chipping.

The laminate doesn't completely cover the sharp edges.

But on the top, the front edge is dented in, in two places.

A few edges and corners had this film flaked or wrinkled on the edges when removed from packaging (nothing very noticeable).
