The instructions for this bookcase were easy to follow and I was able to finish building it in about an hour.

If you're going to put solid books on the shelves, I would recommend that you have reinforcement shelves made to go under them

Yes well other products have their back slide in, or are solid wood, this one is thin posterboard, of which you will need to nail in 55, yes thats fifty five finishing nails.

This is a very sturdy, handsome bookcase that has served well as an extension of our library.....it looks just like our built-ins.

This Bookcase came with chip wood, tacks were to small had to purchase new tack, not stable overall not a good product.

I paid via Amazon for assembly and all was okay until I noticed that there is a screw protruding through the top which of course damaged the bookcase.

It thus was a far more tedious and time-consuming process to assemble the bookcase following the instructions provided, since I had to do a lot of extra double-checking and measuring to make sure I was using the correct piece before I could attach the hardware or make any other major moves toward progress

In order to safely put this product together I recommend using a couple pieces of styrofoam from the packaging and wedging them underneath that weak section.

My problem is that the box was damaged when it arrived (late) and this is so heavy that it could not be immediately checked for damage

Perhaps these sets should be shipped in better protected boxes.
