I got much better results from cleaning cages with 91% isopropyl alcohol (repeatedly).

but I do use it to clean the cages and nest of my finches.

I took everything out of their cage and scrubbed it down, then misted the empty cage

This spray kills the mites instantly and you can spray it right on the gerbils and clean the cages with it.

I tried cleaning out their cages, but that didn't work
