It requires a 3rd party hub, it can by just hook up directly to your WiFi, then if the hub has an issue you’re stuck going back and forth between Schlage and the Hub company

I imagine if its new install, it wouldn't be ano more difficult than installing an ordinary deadbolt

The only thing that might be a complaint is that I don't trust the battery level info that this lock sends to the Wink Hub

I've only had this installed for half a day, but so far it works as advertised

Even without the smart features, the added alarm modes and adjustable sensitivity levels make this a great lock

Not currently using the smart hub features, but for basic functionality of the lock with multiple key codes, it is working great

If your lock doesn't engage smoothly, this will likely drain the batteries faster.

If your door doesn't close ALL THE WAY, the lock will try to lock twice using different power settings draining your batteries

The longer we have had the lock the faster the batteries drain.

and I had no problem removing my old dead bolt and replacing it with this one.

So far the batter is holding up well after trimming the strike plate for smooth bolt throw.

I think if you do it's because the strike plate is interfering with the dead bolt.

I am surprised that the battery is still going because it runs in high power mode for us due to a slight misalignment with the door jam.

works great, worth the money for the pro install (local locksmith) for drilling and ensuring it works without you messing up your door jam

Plus it's as beautiful as it is pictured and it seems it will be durable.

Love this, very easy to install, took me 20 minutes and that was me not prepared and having to deepen the indentation on the door jam to accommodate both strike plates.

I would not recommend using this lock if you're wanting more security than a standard deadbolt.

Use of keypad is easy and I just tell people to push the Schlage logo on the lock when they leave and its locked

I then hooked it up via the Z-Wave link to my home alarm hub that uses Alarm.com

Finally works now , but I’m a little uneasy using it remotely, afraid it won’t really be locked.

Easy to install and works well using the original drillings in the door and frame.

This is my second unit, the lock drive motor or gears failed in the first one.

If you have to put any effort into closing it manually, that small little motor won't do as well

The only reason I did not give 5 star is because the motor is a bit loud.

Noisy motor that makes and awful sound opening and closing

The only reason I am giving it a 4 star rating is because the motor is very noisy when it locks and unlocks (Schlage you should be able to use a quieter motor)

I will definitely be comparing mine to a new one at Home Depot soon to make sure the sound is consistent.

Every time I try to test it, it goes around and makes an awful noise and then errors

My problem with this is the fairly loud noise it makes when locking or unlocking using the touchpad, even with the door held open

One thing I don't like about this lock is that it does make a somewhat loud machine noise when opening and closing.
