I’ve been looking for a compact and solid quality elliptical for a while and this just hit the market a few months ago

While I don't get to enjoy a high quality elliptical anymore, I'm still fairly happy with my purchase

Overall, the Schwinn 411 compact elliptical machine is a nice product

I was looking for a good elliptical that had an app based workout plan

PRO-durability: have had no mechanical failures or problems whatsoever-compact size: 4'x2'x5'

Compact size makes it easy to fit just about anywhere and it is quiet when in use.

So obviously the compacted size is the most important reason I chose this model

sometimes I wish we got a normal sized elliptical because we cannot fully extend our legs on the machine, since it’s the compact size

We bought this for its compact size and it delivers on that promise

The range of motion is not as great as the large ones at the gym, but it still gives a good workout.

And the Schwinn / Nautilus name gives me more confidence than the seemingly hundreds of Chinese knock-offs of unknown quality and support

Would not recommend this product.

Product worked 3 days and the roller on the right started to stick and acted as if there was no tension release for the right roller.

So, why does this product lose 1 star

It came in as a huge heavy box, though the outside of the box was damaged a little bit, inside all the parts were at their places and well protected

and I have to lean a bit to reach them

I've used the supplied lubricant, tried a little bit of WD-40, and neither works for more than maybe 90 seconds

I was worried about the stride length and it does bother me a bit at

A bit overwhelmed to drag the heavy box in and start unpacking, but breath deep and enjoyed each step of assembly

It is really quiet, makes no squeaking or creaking noises at all

It lasts for 1 minute before you get a very VERY loud noise.

After several weeks of use, my 411 started to make really objectionable squeaky noises

It's not loud but does make some noise, nothing too annoying

I took some time to get it assembled, but no problems with the directions etc

I struggled to do 10 minutes on the easiest setting the first time I used

Not worth my time!So in short, the machine is excellent but, if you want the whole experience, purchase norditrack, or bowflex.

Argh!Another thing is that you'll be working out for well over 20 minds and barely burn 50 calories

On a regular elliptical machine, I can count on burning on average at least maybe a few calories a minute- this machine says I’ve only burned 15 calories after using the machine for 30 minutes

I burn 250 calories at the gym in 20 mins

Which will help you (for sure) to burn more calories.

Easy way to burn some calories while watching tv

The display with the total CAL, distance and heart rate is basically useless as it's somehow always around 60cals after 30 min of use at full resistance

I don't need complex fitness programs or displays either, for me keeping a steady heart rate while zoning out with an audiobook or movie is my happy place

Cons: the display seems cheap, the heart-rate monitor reading is all over the place (erratic) and inaccurate (but I didn't buy it for that anyway.)

Only drawback is display is hard to see and no incline.

I would have given this 3 stars, but on about its 7th hour of usage one of the ball bearings broke underneath the foot plate, and stained our carpet underneath.

So, why does this product lose 1 star

I am docking a star for this since it's annoying to deal with for a whole 30 minutes

We have hard wood floors in the house and the machine was moving quite a bit sideways when in use, so we put it on a thick yoga mat and problem solved

In order to avoid possibly staining my floor, I placed a piece of cardboard down under the rails before spraying

It also sounds as if it is scrapping my floors when I’m working

It is recommended that it be on a hard floor.

High resistance even at lowest level, often makes squeaking sounds but they go away after applying the lubricant, calorie count is way off mark

I first started using it the "pinion" bar produced some grinding sounds and I adjusted the tightness of the bolts and screws to no avail.

There is a little noise; nothing awful like clunking or grinding, but a whooshing sound that could be heard somewhat in another room
