I tried to place it in a different place and it cracked another vent louver

The Scosche Mount is well made but the prongs need to be 1/2 mm wider...when I carefully and slowly place the mount in my vent, it cracked the louver

If that still doesn't hold the magnet to the vent, apply a thin layer of scotch tape to the vent louver to take up slack.
