I like the fact that there are no clamping arms and supporting "feet" to hold the phone in place -- makes placing and removing the phone very easy and inserting the charging cable on the bottom of the phone very convenient

It is not able to hold up an average-sized smart phone for more than a few minutes.

The problem I have is the magnet attached to my phone causes the phone, I have a Samsung S 4 Mini, to freeze when you attach the phone to a metal surface

first put the metal plate on the inside of the phone case; that didn't work, too weak: the phone would rotate when the car was in motion; I was scared it'd bounce off of it - then I put the plate on the outside of the case (skin), and it made for a much more secure lock

I have these in both cars - work great and SO convenient and safer that having to pick up phones that fall, etc.!

Maybe it was the phone case that I use (Otterbox Commuter) but the magnet in this holder wasn't strong enough to secure my phone.

I just slap my phone up against this thing and it holds yet comes off easily.

I put the metal plate between the case and the phone back (did not stick it to either, it just sits between both) and have had no problems with the phone falling or any other issues -- this is a great and very secure mount

For a phone without a case this may be great, but for someone with a sturdy case & a lengthy phone it might not due so well

I like the rigidness on this Magnetic Cell Phone holder, in my case I'm using it for a windshield mount, my only grip would be the Magnet does not hold as well as others I have tried, so it's a four star product capable of a 5 star if the use bigger neodymium magnets (they use 4 now in a diamond pattern underneath the rubber like material) or more of the same size to achieve a stronger bond to the metal plates that in my case reside underneath the Otter Box shell protecting my Phone, maybe they presume people will mount the supplied adhesive metal to the surface of your cell phone protective housing
