While the "velcro" seems strong enough to hold the stated 2-lbs, I did worry about the strength of the adhesive especially in 100F+ heat.
These are the very best velcro fastners even if you do not need heavy duty!
the velcro itself seems to be strong, but the glue backing has worked well on some surfaces, but not so good on others
If you don't mind gluing it with contact cement or using some kind of additional adhesive, it works great but the "velcro" is too strong for the adhesive backing.
As hook & loop style fasteners (also known as velcro), these work well and have good hold
Only complaint is that the sticky part is no longer black which is a huge factor if you're trying to use these while still maintaining a neat and less obvious look.
(I prefer a clutter-free, clean look.)
You are reading snippets from reviews of SCOTCH Fasteners Extremely Strong Holds 10lb, 4.5Kg
For example, I used the fastener to hang a framed painting on a kitchen cabinet.
These fasteners are not like Velcro (with plastic on one side and cloth on the other side), both sides are plastic and even though I doubted it at first, they are much more stronger than Velcro type
I believe these fasteners are better than velcro, they seem more sturdy, and I these fasteners will last for a very long time.
The fasteners are not like regular Velcro, it is more like dozens of small plastic snaps, and they sound like snaps when you put it together and take it apart
This fastener really held up well and was easy to put up.
In my wish list I have a GoPro camera, extra batteries with charging unit, reading lamps, head lamps, rear lamps and a bunch of other useful items all which are going to be fastened to the chair
I absolutely loved this item...until I tried to remove it
I have used it to hang a full length mirror on the back of a door, attach signs and display boards to the wall, and to hang decorative items in our teacher's lounge
This is great for anyone that needs to hang and remove and re-hang heavier items.
A very versatile design, and the glue backs are very sticky, like you would expect from 3M. Great product.
However, that said, you should know that in the hot summer the adhesive *will* weaken and probably fail if you try to detach the 'velcro'
The adhesive is very bad.
I found the adhesive to work great on smooth, flat surfaces, but to be less effective on irregular surfaces
As the other reviewers have noted, the adhesive on it is only usable once and may need to be reinforced for heavier items
Generally, it worked well for its intended purpose but some edge use cases had issues, generally involving the adhesive and the nature of the product (pull-apart).
