I gotta agree with others, the convenience of tearing tape is nice, but it doesn't stick very well to my packages, normal cardboard boxes.

It is worth the higher price providing near perfect convenience.

I would NOT use this tape for heavier packages in ANY of those circumstances (especially moving), but for small to medium-size bubble envelopes and packages up to a few pounds (3 or 4 at the most), I would use this tape and have to admit being able to tear the quantity you need by hand IS a pretty cool convenience.

If you work with tape a lot, then the convenience of being able to tear it by hand might trump all other factors

Tear by hand tape is one of those great inventions you didn't know you missed until you tried it.

Works as well to secure things as the old fashioned large roll that requires a dispenser and never tears off a strait even piece

Being able to tear it easily and smoothly is a wonderful thing for me, and eliminates the problem of trying to use it in a dispenser which never seems to work right or trying to cut it with a pair of scissors that is all gummed up with adhesive.

No, it's not as strong as the standard packing tape in the large rolls, but you can easily tear off what you need, when you need it

Unfortunately, it's not only hard to find at a reasonable price, it's hard to find at any price!

No losing the ends of your tape and getting it stuck to itself, no need for a dispenser or sharp blades - just tear it with your hands, easy peasy

For starters when I tear it by hand it slightly deforms the end so that it doesn't lay flat.
