I got it for a great price and of course, you cannot beat the 2 day free shipping.
Great product and prices with super fast shipping times - I would definitely buy from this seller again in the future
Delivery was a little slow, so my advice spring for the faster shipping methods when the purchase is either worth the difference or its not that much to choose from because the cheapest is the slowest!
I can only guess Seagate has shipped these units bare .Dont waste the extra $ 20.00, order the ST4000DX001 for #149.99 instead.
No complaints at all, if you're looking for something in the 2TB range this is a great buy
Good hardrive, only problem was it didn't come with a bracket, but thats not a huge deal, great buy though.
I bought this internal 3.5" drive from a best buy on May 5, 2012
Yes, I've had at least one of these drives die, but I've bought LOTS of hard drives from various manufacturers and have had some bad luck with ALL of them

Great performance for a conventional drive in a size unavailable in an SSD
so it doesn't continue to blue screen and return I/O errors.
I have had periodic episodes of very slow performance for about a year now, where the disk usage shows as 100% continuously, in spite of a very low read/write rate.
Recommend to anyone looking for a good hard drive with a little something extra performance wise and plenty of space.
Excellent drive, good performance, and has been very reliable.
Excellent delivery, very easy to install, totally satisfied

As always Amazon comes through with fast delivery and good prices.
Fair price, prompt delivery, just what I wanted to extend the internal storage capacity of my PC
Purchase and installed this item at the same time I bought a similar Western Digital product and both the Western Digital units went out within 60 days but this Item is still going strong
I love Seagate drives and I love seeing 5.5T available in one internal mount point on a home computer.
tb are new and this is now a barracuda, the new line is name desktop, and it's speed is 5400 rpm,i love seagate but was a little skepical about it being a 4tb and all, item was packeaged in a nice box, opened it up and there was a manual, power and sata cable and a jumper
This Item and memory did NOT work cost me $200.00 service fee to have worked on for 9 hours.
But the 1T filled up quickly, and SSD drives HATE to have little or no room left on them -- they get revenge in really horrible, unpredictable ways
This package is advertised and sold as a kit, which implies that the cables and hardware, as well as the software, needed to install the drive are included.
The drive came with all the cables that were needed as well as the software to enable it.

The description says they are included: "Ships with: Barracuda desktop hard drive, Free DiscWizard software, Interface cable, power adapter, mounting screws and CD with software manual, custom installation guide"
, read speed is very fast, and the available 4 TB of space is very welcome
Through much research I have discovered that these drives have advanced power management that will cause the head to park itself and slow down the speed of the hard drive to save energy
The slowest speed of this this drive around 167MB/s is the fastest speed for the older 4TB as you can see
I think that you should save up for that if you want a good speed and can't afford the money for a SSD I would get this or get the 10K
It is being used a a backup boot drive, so speed is not that important for it's application.
Formatting the drive is not possible due to the massive number of bad sectors.
I do check my drives on a weekly basis for bad sectors etc and have never had any problems on this drive.
this is probably the fastest mechanical drive I've used in a long time!200MB/s which is way faster than the typical 120MB/s and even faster
This also happened with 2 other 300GB hard drives that my partner had (purchased separately, months earlier), BOTH of them also had bad sectors and had to be returned

The missing screw hole is the middle one which is needed for the bracket
runs about 6C hotter i.e. 37C at load vs 31C for 4TB drive.#2 missing holes in the middle of drive for mounting so may be a problem for some
so it doesn't continue to blue screen and return I/O errors.
In my case, the recommended method of mounting drives into the nas bays (ReadyNAS 204) involves a plastic clip that can only be used in the presence of these missing standard screw holes, so I had to mount it differently (which, for the record, is entirely possible and easy with this NAS, but don't count on that being universally true).
These drives are missing threaded holes for mounting it in a case!

It can cause a chirping/squeaking sound and also has the potential to shorten the life of the hard drive due to increased load/unload cycles
If you go to forums(dot)seagate(dot)com and search on 'chirp', you'll find that a number of 1TB - 3TB Seagate SATA drives of more recent vintage, all chirp.

One drive completely stopped working and the other started a very loud clicking noise
Impossibly long boot time, OS hung up, every click took 5 minutes, etc
But to me, If you've ever heard another brand hard drive clicking and humming away inside a computer case, then you'll appreciate the quietness of a Seagate.

Like having a whole new machine!!!Returned the WD hard drive I ordered and installed because it was so loud
I bought 3 of these December 2014 (I don't trust WD to store my data after 3 drive failures in a year) they are running in software RAID 5 on a Poweredge 2950
I had a WD 4TB Black internal desktop drive (WD4003FZEX) that slowed down from an average write rate of 170MB/s to
a new system build.i was real surprized on how quiet these drives are, and there are fast when you remember to remove the 150 gb limit jumper.normaly i use wd raptor hard drives but decided to try somthing
