The bass will not blow your socks off but the detail and clarity is outstanding and for an open-back headphone it is more than sufficient for my needs.

Don't get me wrong, HD650 is a great pair of headphone, but you can't really compare it to this because they have quite different signatures because the HD650 is somewhat a little more colored as in it is
If you want a good pair to judge bass and sub-bass, definitely grab the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x in addition to the HD 660 S, and prepare to be amazed—

It is most impressive when you adjust it to your listening preferences: because the HD660S is designed for a flat frequency response, I turned up the bass on the amp EQ to give the music the fullness and power that I prefer.
The cable is good but not great, comes with 3.5 to 6.35 adapter (for mobile, yes these get powered off my S9 very well), an extra 4.4mm balanced pentaconn cable (first time I saw that) and a 6.35mm cable already in the headphones

Overall, there are some ergonomic bumps with these, but the sound is well-suited for critical listening

However, the quality of the audio itself is 10x better than my (low end by comparison) surround speakers, that goes for both the GSP500 and the HD660s
The sound quality was good but the clamping force was off the charts
In conclusion GREAT sound, decent quality, and all-around amazing headphone
The headphone itself isn't the best build, doesn't "scream" quality, there's some plastic; not even good plastic I might add
it will pretty much trash the sound quality and force you to turn the volume waaay up to get not even the same effect because now those dog barks are going to be coming into your ears louder than whatever you're doing on your computer and to turn it up loud enough to drowned that out would blow out your eardrums.
I won't dare call the GSP500s muddy, but they seem to have a bias that is a little deeper, and lose some details in the mids
The detail is simply stunning, 2.5mm balanced cable (purchased separate cable) or the supplied 3.5mm cable.
Bottom line, if you can afford the HD660 and appreciate extra detail in sound, a wider sound stage, will use for music and gaming, go for it
