Reviews around hd660s (5.00 of 5)

  • The HD660S sounds great on every source I've tried so far, but it truly shines with my Modi Multibit DAC & Magni 3 amp stack
  • I found the HD660S to be a great improvement over the HD650 for my tastes, with a much wider soundstage, better clarity & energy overall
  • The HD660s are very accurate and can bring out flaws in lower quality sources
  • With a size 7 5/8th" head, the HD660s were super comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Reviews around amp (5.00 of 5)

  • Using them with a dedicated headphone amp (MHA 100) and Fiio portable amp, and love the sound.
  • even with my HD600s and a good DAC amp, Even with the 600s and a dual monoblock headphone amp setup!
  • Just make sure you get a good amp and dac to pair it with.

Reviews around bass (5.00 of 5)

  • This generates clean, deep bass when the EQ is adjusted
  • The bass will not blow your socks off but the detail and clarity is outstanding and for an open-back headphone it is more than sufficient for my needs.
  • It's natural for our brains to go "ooh" when we hear bass, or crisp highs, but you don't want these things when judging a mix!Bass is quite good (but not ear-rumbling), about as good as my Shure SRH1540's
  • Rich bass that wasn't overwhelming and great mids and highs

Reviews around use (5.00 of 5)

  • Great headset but requires an AMP to sound good, using GSX 1000 with this and the clarity is insane, however I am not sure if it is worth the 500$ (iam a normal gamer who casually listens to music), the GSX 1000 can make any regular headset sound almost as good
  • Win10, z170 i7 6700k, sound card: creative AE-5 used as direct sound to headphones, mic Blue Yeti usb

  • This is the best headset I've ever owned, it is worth every penny
  • The HD 660 S is incredible

Reviews around fabric cushion (5.00 of 5)

  • The fabric cushions over the cans are pretty cozy as well, providing a comfortable experience for hours on end

Reviews around pair (5.00 of 5)

  • Don't get me wrong, HD650 is a great pair of headphone, but you can't really compare it to this because they have quite different signatures because the HD650 is somewhat a little more colored as in it is
  • If you want a good pair to judge bass and sub-bass, definitely grab the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x in addition to the HD 660 S, and prepare to be amazed—

Reviews around pronounce (5.00 of 5)

  • I won't say it's a dramatic difference, but the difference is great enough to warrant spending the extra coin on the 660s, it is pretty pronounced
  • The lows are well pronounced

  • These headphones sound amazing, and I love the feel of the soft felt ear pads.

Reviews around power (5.00 of 5)

  • It is most impressive when you adjust it to your listening preferences: because the HD660S is designed for a flat frequency response, I turned up the bass on the amp EQ to give the music the fullness and power that I prefer.
  • The cable is good but not great, comes with 3.5 to 6.35 adapter (for mobile, yes these get powered off my S9 very well), an extra 4.4mm balanced pentaconn cable (first time I saw that) and a 6.35mm cable already in the headphones

Reviews around listen (3.95 of 5)

  • Overall, there are some ergonomic bumps with these, but the sound is well-suited for critical listening
  • I don't care how good the sound is when I'm in ideal listening conditions, if I'm pissed from having a headache and bleeding ears for 10 hours it won't matter
  • This mix I put on a thumb drive to test in my favorite listening environment, my car
  • As I'm not an expert I can't speak to whether or not these are "Flat" - but they have drastically improved daily listening.

Reviews around quality (3.61 of 5)

  • However, the quality of the audio itself is 10x better than my (low end by comparison) surround speakers, that goes for both the GSP500 and the HD660s
  • The sound quality was good but the clamping force was off the charts
  • In conclusion GREAT sound, decent quality, and all-around amazing headphone
  • The headphone itself isn't the best build, doesn't "scream" quality, there's some plastic; not even good plastic I might add
  • it will pretty much trash the sound quality and force you to turn the volume waaay up to get not even the same effect because now those dog barks are going to be coming into your ears louder than whatever you're doing on your computer and to turn it up loud enough to drowned that out would blow out your eardrums.

Reviews around detail (3.22 of 5)

  • I won't dare call the GSP500s muddy, but they seem to have a bias that is a little deeper, and lose some details in the mids
  • The detail is simply stunning, 2.5mm balanced cable (purchased separate cable) or the supplied 3.5mm cable.
  • Bottom line, if you can afford the HD660 and appreciate extra detail in sound, a wider sound stage, will use for music and gaming, go for it
  • The bass will not blow your socks off but the detail and clarity is outstanding and for an open-back headphone it is more than sufficient for my needs.
  • I’ve been in the process of re ripping my whole music collection in lossless and these headphones play everything clearly and with great detail
