First time using a whetstone but even after 1 sharpening the results are fantastic!

For a novice the results on five knifes were impressive

The heavier grit side of the stone sculpts the metal edge while the finer grit side hones the tool to as fine an edge as you would want.

The 400 grit is perfect for reworking any damage to your edge, and the 1000 is fine enough to bring your blade to a razor's edge.

First time using a rougher grit 400 stone and it worked amazingly well

but maybe I need a finer grit than 1000 and certainly need more practice.

Think I’ll add the next finer grit stone to my arsenal.

I decided to try some less expensive knives with softer steel and about gave up before finally getting a cheap pocket knife somewhat sharp.
