Some voices were hard to understand with a different speaker I'd purchased, so I decided to try this one

First of all, there is no way to disable or reduce the volume of the booming startup chime or loud voice announcing "Device connected!" when you use Bluetooth mode.

My only complaint is that when you turn it on, a rather loud male voice announces it is connected.

I'm told by many on the other end my voice is a bit fuzzy if I have the Curve sitting in a cup holder in my car.

Connecting to the unit is as easy as holding the top button and a voice will prompt you that it is ready for connection and will verbally announce when it is successfully connected to a device, if there are no devices near the speaker for it to connect to it will automatically go into pairing mode
