If you want an audiophile-esque setup at the end of your tone arm for a great price you can also use the N97XE replacement stylus and that really makes this thing sing
For replacing the cartridge on an older table, the price is right.

Shure was on the "cutting-edge" of making good-sounding, affordable and ultra-reliable moving-magnet cartridges that track much better than most carts in the same price range.
Compared to a cartridge at least twice-the-price, the soundstage is a bit thin, the general clarity of location of sounds in the mix is better on pricier carts
I knew this when I purchased it and wanted it specifically for the 18k rolloff to play my lesser vinyl from the 60's and 70's that have worn grooves and have a rather thin and shrill sound -- this cart warms them up
