But, while I was practicing, it never lost track while both cueing and when doing spin-backs and other things
This needle tracks well enough to scratch and mix with, and sounds clear and open enough to kick back and give a discerning listen to some records with as well
It seems to work well with rock/pop/jazz/R&B from the '50s/'60s/'70s
Of note, it has a lower recommended tracking force than the DJ cartridges from other brands that I was looking at and Shure mentions it offers ultra low record wear
I find that the recommended tracking range of 0.75 to 1.5 grams is ludicrous, and even at tracking forces exceeding the recommended range I cannot get sibilance-free playback

Overall though I would say its high frequencies are amazingly detailed and have a warm sound to them which perfectly balances with the clear, deep bass

As far as audio quality is concerned, I would describe the M44G as warm, punchy, and a little bit retro (for lack of a better word)

Sound quality is great for the price, my old record player never sounded so good
