  • It's not common for a good long lasting great sounding product to come around but when it does you need to buy it and keep it
  • It seems to work well with rock/pop/jazz/R&B from the '50s/'60s/'70s
  • I love this product and I would recommendend it to any djs out there who is trying to enhance his/her skills in the art of scratching.

Reviews around track (5.00 of 5)

  • But, while I was practicing, it never lost track while both cueing and when doing spin-backs and other things
  • This needle tracks well enough to scratch and mix with, and sounds clear and open enough to kick back and give a discerning listen to some records with as well
  • It seems to work well with rock/pop/jazz/R&B from the '50s/'60s/'70s
  • Of note, it has a lower recommended tracking force than the DJ cartridges from other brands that I was looking at and Shure mentions it offers ultra low record wear
  • I find that the recommended tracking range of 0.75 to 1.5 grams is ludicrous, and even at tracking forces exceeding the recommended range I cannot get sibilance-free playback

Reviews around m44 (5.00 of 5)

  • The M44-7 is great too and remember that sometimes you really do get what you pay for - this isn't one of those cheap $20 stylus.
  • As a owner of Whitelabel, and m44g cartridges, I can honestly say i prefer the M44G over the Whitelabels
  • I am not a scratch DJ, however, so I didn't try any of that type of stuff and the M44-7 seems to be Shure's recommended choice for scratching
  • Sure enough, these have a flatter response than the M44-7 making them easier on the ear, with only a minor loss in volume
  • The M44G in particular is a VERY gentle cartridge and it will not harm your records the way some other DJ cartridges will

Reviews around bass (5.00 of 5)

  • More detail in the music, brighter high end, better bass and more separation
  • It seems to work well with rock/pop/jazz/R&B from the '50s/'60s/'70s
  • Overall though I would say its high frequencies are amazingly detailed and have a warm sound to them which perfectly balances with the clear, deep bass

Reviews around sansui (5.00 of 5)

  • I am very happy I chose to give it a try as it perfectly compliments my Sansui and has finally provided me with an amazing rig to play music the way it was meant to be heard

Reviews around encompass (5.00 of 5)

  • Is the sound as rich, full encompassing sa a Grado or Grado Prestige?

Reviews around control (5.00 of 5)

  • It seems to work well with rock/pop/jazz/R&B from the '50s/'60s/'70s
  • Not really, but the sound quality is pretty good to me... certainly does the trick and I feel like I have good control over my records when it comes to cross-fading without (and this is the key) worrying too much about burning them.

Reviews around clarity (4.26 of 5)

  • If you want your albums from the 50s through the 70s to sound nice, warm, and analog-y, this is your cartridge
  • The Sound clarity is AMAZING on clean mint records, but HORRIBLE on old worn dj records and they skip horribly and both worn and mint records
  • The Sound clarity is AMAZING on clean mint records, but HORRIBLE on old worn dj records and they skip horribly and both worn and mint records
  • hence the reason i chose these, i probably should of got the m44-7, but ever one says the clarity on those are not good
  • THE CLARITY IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING , and the DAM needle keeps skipping randomly thru out the album, for no apparent reasonI grew up on the stanton 500's 505s and

Reviews around stylus (4.16 of 5)

  • And even if you're not DJ'ing and want to listen to tunes, it's a good stylus for that too.
  • I prefer this stylus over my AT440MLB to be honest, as the audio reproduction seems more faithful
  • If you want your albums from the 50s through the 70s to sound nice, warm, and analog-y, this is your cartridge

  • Not really, but the sound quality is pretty good to me... certainly does the trick and I feel like I have good control over my records when it comes to cross-fading without (and this is the key) worrying too much about burning them.
  • As far as audio quality is concerned, I would describe the M44G as warm, punchy, and a little bit retro (for lack of a better word)
  • If you want your albums from the 50s through the 70s to sound nice, warm, and analog-y, this is your cartridge
  • Sound quality is great for the price, my old record player never sounded so good

Reviews around alignment (4.10 of 5)

  • The M44G in particular is a VERY gentle cartridge and it will not harm your records the way some other DJ cartridges will
  • Alignment of the cartridge for HiFi use on a Technics headshell for the 1200 is crazy easy, even without a protractor or overhang gauge.
  • Love the N44G. Everybody goes for the N447 because it's loud
  • Even though conical stylii are supposed to be more forgiving of improper alignment, aligning it correctly does make a big difference
  • I recommend using a protractor to get them set up with the correct alignment and overhang

Reviews around record (3.50 of 5)

  • It seems to work well with rock/pop/jazz/R&B from the '50s/'60s/'70s
  • They hold the groove well at much less than the recommended 3 lbs of tracking force, on all by the most warped records.
  • Ive mixed electronic music beautifully and scratch Hip Hop records aggressively
  • The M44G in particular is a VERY gentle cartridge and it will not harm your records the way some other DJ cartridges will
  • This cartridge tracks my vintage records very well at 1.5 grams
