Because it requires access to the back of your radio the real issue is installation.
My installation was relatively easy (2003 Windstar) once I had the radio removal tool ($10).
Super easy installation - just popped off the dash fascia, popped out the radio, plugged the adapter in, ran the wires, reseated the radio and fascia - done in less than 15 minutes
Very easy installation, after searching the Internet for install tips
Installation isn't too tricky for home installation, but so many cars these days have manufacturer-specific antenna inputs and outputs that there's a good chance you'll need adapters
My satellite radio is crystal clear 100% of the time now
If you want a crystal clear satellite signal to your receiver this is what you need
I still have full FM and AM radio and when I power on the SIRIUS received it cuts out normal reception and when tuned to the same frequency as the SIRIUS receiver I get crystal clear reception now.
This is a 5 STAR item if you're a SIRIUS/XM fan and you want crystal clear audio in your car with a dock & play SIRIUS radio
Quick and easy set up in my 05' cavalier with crystal clear satellite radio now
Would have hoped that the price would be slightly cheaper on here.
It works great through the FM radio with the stock stereo and it was at a great price through Amazon
reception is great and I didn't have to buy an a different antenna....very pleased and the price was better than any place I found (truck stop, radio store, etc)
Not 100% perfect as I do get dropped stations here and there, but 99% better than a tape player or over-the-air radio.
Tip - call customer service and complain long and hard enough that it was false advertising and eventually they will agree to sending you the hardwire kit for free and also credit your account $30 dollars for the approx cost of getting it installed.
But totally worth it sound is just as good as if you had a built in AUX cord from the factory
Our signal was so weak in the car we needed something else to make the xm listenable at all.
If you want a crystal clear satellite signal to your receiver this is what you need
My 2nd Sirius aftermarket radio apparently has a wimpy fm signal transmitter, since I very often lose the signal (not the Sirius signal; the FM station I'm trying to use for the Sirius signal).
Signal is crystal clear no matter which station I choose
I have always had trouble getting my Sirius to broadcast a good FM signal
The sound quality is great and there is no interference
My original unit put out an FM signal that was just sufficient to play over the car radio; I found a station that usually worked, and just got used to fact that the sound wasn't great, and was somewhat static-y, and that I had to search for different stations when I went to a different area (even to other parts of town). My old unit died and the new one could barely be picked up on the radio, so I searched around and found this adapter
Way clearer, better sound quality, and you don't have to change
Great sound quality; wires tucked neatly inside the dash
The sound quality is now better than my standard FM stations and there is no hiss at all.
The connection of this thing was SO SIMPLE!The result: Crystal clear XM radio
Finding an interference-free FM radio station is not an option.
Sadly, this radio died after about 6 years and I had to replace it with one of the newer, less powerful models.
While this worked ok, the sound quality and volume was not as good as my FM radio channels, and there was some hiss.
I used it in a 2011 Nissan Rogue (which has very poor radio reception compared to my other vehicles) and i’m certain it worsened the sound quality vs no antenna at all
Not 100% perfect as I do get dropped stations here and there, but 99% better than a tape player or over-the-air radio.
The FM adapter works as described and has met my expectations
this sirius "fm direct adapter" cable, which splits and extends the external fm receiver antenna built into your car to also function as an antenna receiver for your sirius satellite radio
Not 100% perfect as I do get dropped stations here and there, but 99% better than a tape player or over-the-air radio.
When I use the same radio with the old cassette adapter there is no distortion
But totally worth it sound is just as good as if you had a built in AUX cord from the factory
Not 100% perfect as I do get dropped stations here and there, but 99% better than a tape player or over-the-air radio.
A much better option than those cheap, wireless FM transmitters.
My 2nd Sirius aftermarket radio apparently has a wimpy fm signal transmitter, since I very often lose the signal (not the Sirius signal; the FM station I'm trying to use for the Sirius signal).
Sound quality is far superior to any wireless solution - even your hacked non-compliant RF transmitter.
Additionally, the volume is lower than with the tape deck connection, so I have to bump up the stereo volume a bit to compensate
I was a bit doubtful, and worried that it would involve more hassle than it would be worth, but for my car (a Honda Civic) it turned out to be quite easy
I could not get into my dash to hook this up and felt $100 was a bit excessive from the local big box store

Tired of relying on your FM transmitter to send your Sirius satellite radio signal to your car stereo? Turn instead to this wired FM adapter, which provides a direct connection to produce a crisper overall sound
Unlike FM transmitters--which often suffer from static and interference, as with traditional FM stations--the FM adapter plugs directly into the rear of your factory or after-market stereo, thus requiring a bit of installation expertise
But once connected, you can tune to your favorite Sirius channels in seconds without searching for unused FM frequencies
More importantly, the signal will be clean and uninterrupted, with no pops or fizzes as you drive from one part of the city to another
The FM adapter, which works with all Sirius plug 'n' play and personal radios, includes plugs and wires for most installations, although antenna adapters may be required for select car stereos
It's also backed by a one-year warranty
