The sound quality of my satellite radio greatly improved after installing the direct adapter as my vehicle has a diversity antenna system which allows it to pick up distant radio stations therefore reducing the number of radio stations that I could use in my area to almost nil.

Not 100% perfect as I do get dropped stations here and there, but 99% better than a tape player or over-the-air radio.

My original unit put out an FM signal that was just sufficient to play over the car radio; I found a station that usually worked, and just got used to fact that the sound wasn't great, and was somewhat static-y, and that I had to search for different stations when I went to a different area (even to other parts of town).My old unit died and the new one could barely be picked up on the radio, so I searched around and found this adapter
