My Sportster 5 did NOT have a power connect supply, but I have found that the internal fm transmitter on the Starmate 8 to be generally sufficient, although I highly recommend buying an fm transmitter and plugging it into the base auxillary jack.

I bought the DOOSL Universal FM transmitter from Amazon and a FosPower FM jack extension and it works VERY well
