All-Stars make up the roster here includes primarily of Sonic franchise characters like Sonic, Tails, Eggman, Amy, as well as characters like Ryo Hazuki (Shenmue)
(And we all know Sonic is faster without a car, and the game will even make reference to this
Sonic fans will love to see their Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Eggman as racers; they will see tracks themed with Sonic (and even sound effects like the bumper from the casinos of the Sonic the Hedgehog series), and they will even be able to hear and unlock numerous songs from throughout the Sonic universe, such as "Super Sonic Racing" from Sonic R, or even "What U Need" from Sonic Rush.
If you like Sonic and if you like racing games, this is for you

If you're going to imitate a well proven franchise like Mario Kart, you should take a cue from Sumo Digital's new combat racer Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
If anything, perhaps some more well known characters and franchises could have been represented (Toejam and Earl, Streets of Rage, Ecco, Golden Axe etc...) but that is a minor criticism though it could be argued they should be available by DLC, though apparently won't

Tragically, all of the other racing games available for the PS3 are hopelessly bad.
This keeps the race more intense at all times, and for the not-so-great drivers like myself, helps me have more fun and not feel frustrated by my lack of skills
This is a great racing game for PS3, but sadly, not as fun as Mario Kart Wii.
It has FAR surpassed my expectations, and as a 20 year old gamer, I can definitely say that this is the best racing game that I have played since Mario Kart 64.
The racing is fun but a bit harder than it first appears.
Among the many positive aspects: Nice and colorful graphics that still hold up perfectly 3 years after release
This game is solid, a lot of fun, very easy to get into and has very good graphics.
Great graphics and the kids love playing against each other
4 stars overall because at the end of it, I am also something of a gamer, so for me the graphics is mostly confusing an not very attractive, the controls are less than ideal (I'm used to PC..) and the 4-track competitions should've been controllable
And all the characters, aside from Sonic and friends, are a bit obscure.

There are plenty of colorful characters and some great looking courses but no matter what level your on it all just feels the same ... each time you play
Lots of tracks, cars, great characters, upgrade options

Also the different "party" games in split screen are just variation of the same hit-and-run type of games
You can play split screen with up to 3 additional players which is really fun but can be a bit confusing on some levels because of the vivid colors and all the moving graphics in the background...but that hasn't kept me from racing everyone I possibly can
After researching, my Husband found this game had wonderful reviews and could play up to 4 players on a split screen at one time
It has a over a dozen tracks, many characters to unlock (If you are a SEGA fan then this means more to you), battle modes for split screen and of course online modes
