very nice features - 11 frames per second, in camera HDR, lightweight and compact, facial recognition, awesome low light capabilities, very easy to use with no getting frustrated as i toggle between ISO, F-stops, and shutter speed
I can't tell you how many pictures I lost over the years because I couldn't see the camera display when the sun was bright, and with the vague and often inaccurate auto focus, I lost quite a few potentially awesome pictures.
Putting the camera in Airplane Mode and disabling Auto Review greatly helps prolong battery life.
Video is pretty good again improved by the great auto focus
Only half the weight yet 4 times pixel count and super fast auto focus
Takes great clear shots with a minimum of camera weight and fuss.
With many features accessible only through menu, there are chances that you will miss the shots you want to remember.
I found this product to be a disappointment, shots are often blurred or simply don't look good
Airplane Mode On, I never leave home with less than 4 batteries fully charged and keep turning it off and on again, which makes me miss some unexpected shots
I also tried to use the aperture modes if I want to close up shots and blur the background
The focus will be painfully slow and negate the benefits of the system when using such non-native glass.
Love the very fast focus, excellent low light performance, light weight handling, great VET and all the other great features.
The focus will be painfully slow and negate the benefits of the system when using such non-native glass.
Pros: - Fast, fast, fast auto focus with the right lens.
I can't tell you how many pictures I lost over the years because I couldn't see the camera display when the sun was bright, and with the vague and often inaccurate auto focus, I lost quite a few potentially awesome pictures.
I own only L lenses as well as the well renowned Sigma 35 f1.4
There are some good YouTube videos as well as a good e-book by Gary Friedman (http://www.friedmanarchives.com/alpha6000/index.htm)
The biggest thrill for me is that I can shoot like crazy and not worry about film and developing costs, those days are so long gone nobody young knows what I'm talking about
This camera sucks battery like crazy, but you should be able to go three to four hours of HEAVY shooting on 2 or 3 batteries
I am bummed out because now I have no camera for my upcoming trip and there is nothing else out there that I like as much as I liked this Sony a6000
Great camera, my only complaint is that the batteries drain pretty fast.
so if you purchase them as you upgrade all your lenses will work as you upgrade your camera body.
Very happy with the camera, so far the Only complaint is the lack of a mic input jack, but I knew that before purchasing.
The one complaint I have always had with Sony is their lack of software updates, they are notorious for releasing a whole new body and leaving their existing customer in the dark
The camera is rated as best in class for a wide variety of functions and 'as good as' on most others...up against darn near anything
:You know that convenient, inexpensive wireless intervalometer you use on your older NEX camera for time-lapse and astrophotography
I'm finding that Sony has camera applications ($$) available for time-lapse, multi-exposure, etc
For now I rely on the fast and clear E-mount Sigma 30mm prime that works perfectly w/ the camera.
If you want to do time lapse with this camera, it requires that you purchase an app for $9.99, which isn't the worst.
The selection is almost non-existent, and they overprice apps that do functions that should be included in the camera like time lapse, bracketing and get this, lens correction is not included
, L lenses even more so, so as much as I love to use it when I go out with sole intention of taking pictures, those are not really handy to carry around for anything else
so if you purchase them as you upgrade all your lenses will work as you upgrade your camera body.
The only downside that I found with the A6000 is the lack of lens selection.
The lack of marking on the Sony e-mount lenses was also a major issue
the lack of app selection and predatory prices is insulting
There are a lot of naysayers on the web who say that Sony doesn't have a good lens selection, but the E mount lenses available for this meet my needs.
It was even draining the battery overnight with the camera turned off, so I ordered 2 additional batteries and a charger
Upgraded from Sony Nex 5T, so I could make use of 18-55 and 55-210 lenses.
I ordered two non-Sony brand extra batteries and a wall charger bundled for about $25 and they work well and the charger also charges the real Sony battery.- Hopefully there will be more choices of Sony E mount lenses in the future
Overall, incredible image quality that is comparable and even better than that of the T4iBattery Life: 7/10- This is the Achilles' heel of the camera as the battery drains frighteningly
The compact, lightweight camera delivers superb image quality - via newly developed 24.3-effective-megapixel (approx.) Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processing engine - as well as highly intuitive operation thanks to an OLED Tru-Finder and two operation dials.
