Sony Dream Machine ICF-CD843V CD Clock Radio with Digital Tuner (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

    • I like very much the individual alarms with every mode of the clock (one alarm for the CD, one for the radio and one for the buzzer).
    • I've had my Sony Dreammachine for over a year now, got it at a really great price at Target, and it's the best alarm clock I've ever had
    • It's in a non-user friendly position located near the rear of the radio, It's easy to accidently turn your wake-up alarm all the way down and miss your wake-up (if using the CD function as a source)3.
    • However, it several button presses to turn the alarm on, or to disable it (so it doesn't sound the next day).
    • OK but really, at the end of the day, it's still a glorified alarm clock.
    • A hallmark of Sony's relatively expensive alarm clocks are excellent sound.
    • However, some deficiencies make it a bit disappointing: (1) no digital volume control, so you can't set volume level for an alarm, and there is no progressively louder alarm; (2) (as someone else noted) if you want 2 alarms at 2 different times (e.g., 5am & 6am), they need to be on different music sources (e.g., 5am radio
    • One feature missing is battery back-up, which might be important for those requiring a fail-proof alarm in the morning even if the power goes out overnight.
    • it's worth it just for the radio and easy alarm functions
    • A fairly standard feature found on good electric alarm clocks.
    • The radio worked good too, but I couldn't check the TV function since I don't have on-air stations between 1-13.You can have multiple alarms at different times BUT--- in order to do this you must not have a CD in the player.
    • The alarm still wakes me up in the morning when this sleep mode is used!It has more than one alarm setting, super useful
    • best alarm clock ever.
    • I really needed a reliable alarm clock
    • For me, it means that in the morning I set the radio/CD to be activated as the pre-alarm (so to enjoy the music but still on bed), and the other bip alarm as the one that you really have to get up
    • I have owned the $99 model Dream Machine for several years and think it's pretty much the best alarm clock/night stand CD player available
    • The CD alarm feature has worked every morning, there's a backup radio alarm available, and the digital tuning is very welcome (my cat used to step on and move the manual tuner on the old radio, shifting the stations and sometimes causing static in the morning)
    • Truly, this model has been the perfect CD Player/alarm clock for me
    • Maybe it'll be in the next itineration of this product (hint...hint)Although this unit is inexpensive, has GREAT sound, is somewhat easy to use, There are certain things you come to expect in a product like this as well as from this company, They've been in the game too long to make the mis-steps like they did with this one

    • Bad R&D from Sony
