I found that PlayMemories Mobile app works great for setting and controlling the Sony AZ1VR, It also allows you to view photos and videos wirelessly

On the plus side, the camera is small and light, splash spoof, has decent image stabilization, and comes with a live view remote

but I found that Highest resolution (PS Mode) which is smooth image recorded at 4× frame rate @ Resolution: 1920 × 1080 in MP4 format is plenty good enough for action sports category without splurging on high speed MicroSDXC cards

The tiny size can be annoying at times as I constantly found myself accidentally pressing buttons whenever I attempted to open the charging port or even when hand-filming unless I held the camera between two fingers.

Sony must realize they can't sell the "NEW" GPS remotes, because the MAIN feature of this remote (GPS) doesn't work!!I am assuming they needed to get the AZ1 cameras on the selves before Christmas and they would worry the GPS BUG later!!I guess SONY can't sell

Actually, it's amazing, and this is its strongest feature compared to the GoPro

In lower light, the camera has to adjust its ISO setting up in order to get the sensor to see the little bit of light there is, but this higher iso speed results in grainier video, but this is common to all action cameras, so I don't think it really detracts overall

Modes (Photo, Video, Time lapse) can't be changed or confirmed on the camera itself- GPS is built into the remote not the camera

The gopro takes excellent quality video, but the software is constantly causing issues.

(GoPro are really dangerous for that)- Good video quality in all modes, slightly worse than the GoPro 3 Black and 4 Black, but better than GoPros 3, 4 silvers and white
