Sony ICF-C707 Clock Radio with AM/FM Dual Alarm and Large Easy to Read Backlit LCD Display

    • sound is not so bad for a tiny speaker....
    • the radio performs well, the sound is good-no problem with the backlight as it turns off if you need it to.all in all - i would say it is well worth the price i paid-the nature
    • The sound is clear on both AM and FM.
    • had this clock in one of the hotels i stayed in, loved the soothing sounds it made helped fall asleep faster
    • The sounds are not loud enough and they are not very high quality sounds either
    • AUX: putting AUX here too because for something that has aux input you would think it had a halfway decent sound system to listen to your device
    • Very clear sound, which is very important to me.2.
    • love the sounds.
    • For its size, and price, the sound is quite good for a clock-radio.
    • Nice sound -- confusing instructions -- lousy level of light for clock
    • While the sound isn't fantastic on
    • Plays nice natural sounds but it is very hard to set up the alarm and such.
    • I don't know why everyone was talking about the loud sound
    • The "relaxing" sounds aren't very good at all
    • My biggest complaint about this clock radio, however, is the sound.
    • The features are very good and for a small radio the sound is fine.
    • More like fake sound
    • This little clock is perfect for someone who wants to wake up to nature sounds rather than the blaring noise of the radio, and incessant beep-beep-beep.
    • sound is very good though.
    • First off and of most importance, this clock radio has a tinny sound quality (annoying to this audiophile). Then, I found that the black numerals on blue background are not easy to see (in the middle of the night).
    • that is (1) small to fit on bed stand; (2) easy to use; and (3) decent sound, not necessarily hi fi
    • the sound didn't work anymore.
    • really great clock, nice realistic sounds and good quality
    • I was looking to replace an older clock radio (recently deceased -- an analog device but with decent sound). So with a general respect for Sony, I tried this incarnation of The Dream Machine
    • The sound is good.
    • Sound is fine though.
    • It has a tinny-sounding speaker and has the effect of being so annoying sounding (when set to the radio) that it does wake me up right away.
    • Decent sound.
    • Radio has a good sound for something so small.
    • LOVE it mostly due to the SMALL size of it!Only 5 'nature' sounds but one of them willprobably work for you.
    • A gentle sounding alarm (vs. a harsh buzzer sound) or an alternative alarm... check (I think
    • The Sony ICFC707 Clock Radio is easy to program and the sounds are nice
    • and I have returned this product back to amazon in favour of an accurate, radio controlled, "automatic time set" clock radio, with better sound, such as a Sangean.
    • Sound is good.
    • Tacky plastic device, with a low contract display, producing poor tinny sound
    • But for general listening in a bedroom used mostly for sleeping and dressing, the sound is fine
    • YES!!Even my old Timex alarm clock had good sounding
    • Works ok just wish the sound was louder.
    • However, if you're looking for good sound or anything short of just basic noise, it fails
    • Great small radio, music sound just OK
    • No other clock has those soothing sounds.
    • With two separate alarms, BATTERY BACKUP (it even comes with a batter), a well designed antenna, crisp sound, audio-in jack, nature sounds (haven't used these), and easy to use interfaces, this unit is a keeper.
    • Sound is fine, radio works, nature sounds are an interesting novelty and about as expected
    • The sound is not the greatest with the small speaker but is not bad either
    • Great sound from the radio, and clear time and alarm display.
    • and the soothing nature sounds are perfect for 'white noise'!!!
    • The sound is not good, but it is fine to get the news, traffic, etc.
    • The sound on this Sony is very good and the reception is excellent
    • A gentle sounding alarm (vs. a harsh buzzer sound) or an alternative alarm... check (I think
    • Excellent radio, great sound, thermometer, dual alarms, nature sounds, aux in, and a great price
    • Good sound for small radio
    • More like fake sound
    • One review said the sound was good.
    • very happy with radio...clear sound even without the antenna for FM station..would buy again...got the clock radio in the
    • My favorite sound machine
    • Pros:- Dual alarms with weekday and weekend settings.- Decent sound but with barely adequate max volume.- Temperature display.- LCD display adjustable brightness high/low/off
    • The waves and bird sounds are my favorite.
    • The sound is not the best
    • Great sound and works well but programing takes a bit of patience and the location of the [rograming/control buttons is not very egrometric.
    • The sounds are sharp and piercing
    • Nice sound -- confusing instructions -- lousy level of light for clock
    • For a decent sound machine, pick up this one from
    • I love the nature sounds and different selection
    • Not a good choice for bedroom due to poor sound and poor location for controls.
    • The sound is clear but there is no base
    • Granted, the sound is not exactly hifi quality but the small size of the clock simply limits the sound quality
    • Do not get this for any listening though the sound is awful the speaker is small and sounds like its inside a can
    • The sound is satisfactory
    • If you think a trapped cricket is a soothing sound
    • sound is great, but very very difficult instructions
    • Sound is very bad.
    • Very useless product, terrible radio reception, sound, and I could not read the ugly lcd
    • the radio performs well, the sound is good-no problem with the backlight as it turns off if you need it to.all in all - i would say it is well worth the price i paid-the nature
    • Good sound, not easy to set, but satisfied with sound and size.
    • Nice in that the time is always automatically set, good sound
    • I can also play my music from my mp3 player and it has an AM/FM radio as well as nature sounds.
    • The Sony is NOT an exact replacement in the sound quality department but it does have a nice array of "soothing" sounds.
    • Not the best sound have heard, but works.
    • Sound is good considering the size of the speakers and other radios I've heard
    • I have always hated waking up to music almost as much as buzzer - it is a race to see which sound is more obnoxious to me, and I have my MP3 if I want to go to sleep by music
    • For it's sound, however, the speaker is halfway decent for it's size
    • It is small, it is inexpensive, but it has great reception, excellent sound and a small footprint.
    • The sounds of nature options are delightful
    • Love the nature sounds
    • The sounds are not worth the extra money and bad clock design (the ICFC414 has all the buttons in just the right places)
    • Very nice sounding radio
    • The sound on this is positively tinny, and hurts the ears .......not at all likeprevious versions of the Dream Machine
    • I read many reviews and looked at a LOT of nature-sound alarm clocks before I bought this one.
    • Overall, a well-designed alarm clock radio with tinny but clear sound
    • Really poor quality speaker sound.
    • As I said, I have had 5 other Sony clock radios all of which I use for listening to music when in that room, this one sounds worse than the cheap little am transistor radio I had in 1970, I won't be using it for anything except to wake up
    • The sound is not very loud for a large room, Just good enough for beside the bed.
    • Two are a little annoying - one sounds too much like bacon frying and one sounds like leaky plumbing
    • The sound is great on the radio and it gets good reception.
    • The radio is small/compact but packs a surprisingly good sound
    • Unlike the rich Mega Bass on my old Sony Dream Machine clock, this one has a cheap tinny sound, like the speaker on a low-end mobile phone
    • Being a Sony product, I expected the sound to be great, however it has only one speaker that's really tinny sounding!Mono tinny sounding
    • always have more than I need.the sound on the radio is better than I am used to in a clock radio.
    • In particular the old radio had a rather wonderful sounding speaker, where this has a much smaller and less pleasing sound
    • clear radio great sound.
    • The sound is not quite the usual quality of Sony but adequate to wake you up.
    • and she only uses the "babbling brook" sound
    • If someone is interested in plugging in a device for listening, there are cheaper, better and many more choices with much better sound and utility(charging the device for example is almost standard) than this one offers
    • This radio has a nice design, nice clear sound
    • For me, I like having the good radio reception and sound
    • soundsAUX inputDigital tunerCons:Audio quality: absolutely TERRIBLE tinny sound that's pretty much a nuisance to listen to
    • The alarm clock function works fine and I like the sounds, although I wish they became louder gradually.
    • The weak sound and plastic quality are sadly acceptable as a function of the discount price paid.
    • For example--have to re-tune the radio after shutting off the alarm; difficultto change the alarm; can't get the alarm to set to radio or nature sound, only a faint "receptioninterference" sound; can't change the year; and difficult to correct the time
    • It is a slim unit and has a decent sound.
    • Enjoying the ocean sound.
    • Now, going from the SI radio (with awesome sound), I will agree with other reviews that this Sony does sound a bit tinny
    • It seems like after 100 years the industry has forgotten how to design a decent sounding radio
    • The item itself is certainly worth more than I paid for it, but the sounds it offers are a little too repetitive for
    • the sound is loud but weak at the same time and the night light is so bright blue that you can hardly make out the numbers in the day
    • The sound is not very loud for a large room, Just good enough for beside the bed.
    • Two are a little annoying - one sounds too much like bacon frying and one sounds like leaky plumbing
    • I wanted a Nature sounds alarm clock.
    • Plus the sounds are almost indistinguishable.
    • Better sound could be had with 2 cans and a string.
    • I dont need to turn it up all that much to get a loud sound.
    • Decent sound for something this size... but by no means a Bose class table top stereo
    • Sound did not improve playing Mp3 from my phone
    • Defeats purpose of soothing sounds when light is so bright you can see through your eyelids
    • This clock was everything I was looking for: an alarm with soothing sounds which I can choose the volume level--awesome
