Sony ICF-C707 Clock Radio with AM/FM Dual Alarm and Large Easy to Read Backlit LCD Display

    • Great compact size and bright large time display - the only things I like
    • Minuses: small buttons and weak fixing incidentally might turn off the alarm, many wires (antennas) and if put on low bedside table (30") you can see the time well
    • Well, that time reading disagreed with our local public radio station (go figure). Finally, the tuning of radio signal was not as precise as I would have hoped with a digital tuner; the sound quality was slightly fuzzy (though other radios in the house were able to clearly pick up the same stations).Altogether this Sony model was a disappointment - it did not make me want to linger and listen to the radio, which has been my habit for a long time.
    • The Amazon web site says: "Automatic time set"The Sony manual says:"Automatic time set: when you plug the clock in for the first time, the current time will be shown in the display".Of course since it's been running on the backup button battery every since it left the factory, the time was almost 3 minutes slow and did NOT "automatically time set" as described
    • For example--have to re-tune the radio after shutting off the alarm; difficultto change the alarm; can't get the alarm to set to radio or nature sound, only a faint "receptioninterference" sound; can't change the year; and difficult to correct the time
    • It resets itself to the correct time after a power outage automatically and displays both the room temperature and the alarm set time right in the display so you can know at a glance that you set the alarm correctly for those times when you are half-awake and wonder whether you did it correctly or not.
    • Otherwise, the automatic time from radio waves is great
    • SIMPLE SETTINGS LIKE , TIME , ALARM , ECT
    • So many buttons everywhere, yet simple commands such as setting the time right will require a team of twelve rocket scientists
    • I have had a very difficult time with the dual alarms
    • I had used it less than a dozen times when it failed to go off at the appointed time
    • I'm an insomniac, so not seeing what time it is while I'm lying in bed wide awake, is great.
    • The thing is Junk doesn't even have military time although it shows military time on the picture sound quality is horrible
    • I purchased this alarm clock at my husband's request for Christmas and we really like the nature sounds, but the blue light that illuminates the time is really bright
    • Understand that it will not set the time to the CORRECT time, only adjust it forward or back an hour twice a year.
    • Someone not used to operating complex technical devices will have a hard time with it
    • I miss it half the time w/o the light on
    • This alarm allows you the ability to set weekend alarm times as well as weekday alarm times.
    • so I have a hard time reading it in the middle of the night when I'm still half asleep.
    • It seems to keep pretty good time, and there is a function for manually setting the time if necessary
    • Great sound from the radio, and clear time and alarm display.
    • If necessary, set the clock to the correct time by referring to "Setting the clock
    • We bought this alarm clock for its military time clock, but it only supported standard time
    • I've had a much easier time waking up since I've gotten this clock, and I'm sure the dual alarm deserves the credit.
    • The ability to turn off the backlight is much appreciated--about the only complaint I have is that it seems like you can't manipulate the light without adding to the snooze time after the alarm has already gone off (though of course I'm always just waking up in this situation, so it's hard to tell).
    • It took me 15 minutes to set the alarm the first time - and then it did not go off
    • The clock is within 2-3 min. of correct time, but certainly no where close to the accuracy of clocks that set automatically by atomic clock signals.
    • This works perfectly in our TV room as our "box" does not display the time.
    • The deal-breaking issue with this clock is that it loses time.
    • I tend to figure out how to program these clocks without reading the manual and at first I had a tough time but finally figured it out.
    • Didn't test the radio; probably OK.So for me, failed to perform the basic functions: showing the time and waking me up
    • It could be me, but I have a hard time setting and resetting this clock
    • I am not sure what I did, but I kept plugging away for a few minutes and it was fully set up with correct time, date and year and the right alarm time too as well as the correct timezone.
    • All you see is the stupid blue bar and NO time at all!
    • All functions work well and the time was correct when I first plugged it in
    • All functions work well and the time was correct when I first plugged it in
    • Having a clock that automatically sets the time for you is nice... as long as that time isn't wrong
    • I plugged this in and it had the right time immediately
    • Programming was a breeze as I didn't need to program the clock due to the battery backup already had an accurate time and date programmed into it
    • Ended up getting up late one day because I forgot to set A back to my correct work time.
    • Three times now the alarm has not gone off.
    • User unfriendly, sounds and/or alarm go of at odd times, and confusing to reset.
    • It keeps accurate time and dual alarms are easy to set up
    • The Good: the backup battery (which comes with the unit) to store your settings during a blackout; the 5 radio channel presets for both AM and FM; sound quality (good for the size); temperature gauge; ok reception; stable time setting
    • When it failed a second time, I was done with it
    • I think he would have had an easier time seeing the time off a green, even a red background
