When I first received from Amazon the battery back up batteries were dead, so I am guessing it sat in the warehouse for a while.

The only "down side" to this Sony clock is that its corded, as I prefer a battery but other than that minor item its perfect

I hate getting up and seeing blue/green lights, the orange color is really nice in the dark as well as during the day.

You can dim the numbers, the radio comes in as clear as my old radio, I don't accidentally change the time or the alarm setting, and there's a separate "permanently off" switch for the alarm (for weekends) as well as an "off-for-today" button so that I don't have to remember to turn it back on the next day
