Most all of the reviews stated that the only area they found the Bose to be superior was in comfort (they are a bit lighter and the design of the ear cups don't tend to make your ears as warm,)

Yes, these even outperform the Bose QC35's in both soundstage and noise cancellation

If you have big ears, listen all day, and not a lot of ambient noise around you, you might prefer the Bose; I think I would put a premium on comfort myself, in that circumstance.

So long as the continue to be cheaper the bose, I would get these instead.

The top band is soft, though not as soft as the similar Bose model

These actually outperform Bose in that regards because the QC35II's are more centered in the midrange category

I have to admit that I had to switch back and forth between the Sony and the Bose about 10 times to determine if I *really* preferred the Bose to the Sony, and they were actually pretty darn close

However, Bose produces a little more pressure on the skull (I guess because Sony clamp tighter on the ears and support their weight on ears while Bose is looser on ears and puts more weight on the skull)

Better than QC35, Bass is solid, almost as good as Bose, but I love everything else...as well as Longer battery life, Vol Controls are awesome gesture driven by swiping on Right Earcup surface

I firmly believe websites are paid to endorse bose enough to call them “even” (CNET among others)

In terms of comfort, Bose would win in my opinion

People can't hear me at all with the Sony's, but the Bose are insanely good at phone calls

Sony / Bose: amazing

However, I took them both on a plane, and IMO the Bose blocked the airplane noise a tiny bit better

The noise cancelling is simply Amazing, I tested both these headphones next to a vacuum cleaner, Sony has far outperformed Bose

Being an avid Bose lover, I figured they would be great, but was sorely disappointed

The Bose QC 35s are very comfortable on the ears

Noise cancellation is as good as Bose, perhaps better, as you can calibrate the noise cancellation to your environment by holding cancellation button

I chose Sony because of the sound quality and the frequency of the noise cancellation didn’t hurt my ears like the Bose did (to each their own on the latter remark)

They're not like little cotton balls on your head like the Boses are (as is the Bose's noise-cancelling capability.. cotton balls..), but they're not Uncomfortable, either.

Not as light as Bose QC35 but work great and has the gestures feature that is kinda cool

The main bad thing is the comfortability, while these are decent to wear, not as comfortable as Bose but after awhile, your ears can feel pressured by the earcup

Don't get me wrong; the Bose is very nice too.

The old Bose were only partially effective in this situation, and I found I had to crank up the volume to compensate, to around a 7 or 8.

People that tell you that B&W are not comfortable must be wearing them backwards

If sound quality is top priority over noise cancelling, then go with the B&W PX or any number of other wired passive headphones.
