Nothing exciting about the lens hood (one piece plastic rather than the plastic/"felt-like" dual piece hoods on the more expensive Sony lenses).

and I mainly use the 85mm on my Nikon D810 as well and the Sony is flawless and just light

The Sony 85/1.8 autofocus works pretty well (although I believe it focuses stopped down rather than wide open aperture, but then again it seems that most Sony lenses do that) and does not "hunt" too much, except a bit more in low light conditions.

Comparing the two, Sony 85 is brighter and sharper edge
