On the plus side, the picture looks great, it's big, and the price is decent
Thats a great price point, others have been a dumb 49" for less than $500 by phillips, a 49" smart for $650 by LG, and a $1050 smart Samsung
Price was outstanding just because it was last years model.
For the great price I got from Amazon can't complaint that much either !!
I would buy this set in a heartbeat if it was at the more reasonable price of $500, but for what they are charging it is a non-starter as there are just too many better options out now
Side visibility is excellent and improved over the X800D. Dark colors are dark
No distinction between dark colors.
Reddit has a pinned thread for Bravia owners that helped me head off any impending slowdown with age, or bloatware included.(My changes made were to set animations to 0.5x but leave the animation speed at normal; it still looks pretty smooth for scrolling.)Upscaling from 480i, 720p, 1080p and so on is REALLY GOOD.4K HDR (based on my watching "The Grand Tour [Ultra HD]" on Amazon Video) shows a definite difference in improved contrast and colors, in my book
Not pure black, mind, so OLED-pampered eyes might not like it so well, but for me it makes better sense to have good colors and comfortable viewing angle (even nearly side
Great color handling, vivid images, appropriate contrast, and smooth motion handling
The 43 inch size is great, and actually appears "larger" than it is, because of the sleek design, I bought this TV for my living room, and I am relegated to no more than 43 inches, due to the size of the wall it hangs on
So this time, I am going with another TV that has a cleaner design, faster menu, cleaner RF! remote and more simplicity
The picture is the best of its price range but the interactive design is pitiful.
You are reading snippets from reviews of Sony XBR55X800E 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2017 Model)
The software is just so awful that I HATE using this TV
Great TV w/ beautiful picture
Great size for a rec room or wall mount where a larger TV won"t fit
Android TV just sweetens the pot just that much more, and won't be outdated like the other smart TVs that use closed off proprietary software or OS setups
This TV uses an IPS panel, not VA, and as a result, the blacks are really not as good as on the older version
Rediscover every detail in 4K HDR while TRILUMINOS Display adds a brilliant picture that’s closer than ever to real-world colours
And with Android TV, find all the entertainment you want, faster than ever.
