It's a great set, but one of the reasons I bought it is because it says it can be controlled by Amazon Echo

The picture quality is excellent (ignore those Consumer Reports comments about the LCD/LED sets not having dark blacks)

I don't use a set top box and rely on apps.

With the IR blaster cable included, you can just set the cable end in front of your set top box and use the Sony remote for everything.
