I put the metal plate inside my Spigen Tough Armor case (between the hard plastic and soft rubbery material so it is not directly against my phone - didn't want that to damage phone as my LG G6 has beautiful rear glass)

Not ideal if not using a case or using a clear case because then the metal plate is a bit of an eye sore

I bought the Spigen tough armor case and put the magnetic peice between the metal and the case so you don't even see

It does not damage your case or your vents

My phone case is a Spigen and when cleaning my case the other day, I saw the sticker that said - place metal plate here.

i shook the phone about rigorously and had a very difficult time separating it from the metal plate without rolling the case off of the magnet.+ the metal plate fit in my fairly thin phone case (Spigen Extreme Protection Tough Armor Case) easily without adding bulk

I bought this with the assumption that it would hold my iphone 6s plus and spigen tough armor case.

I would say that this is probably not a good fit for people with super thick protective cases unless you adhered the metal disc to the outside

This case is Super Tough

But you do need to get their case though for it to work most efficiently.

I do like that they keep the phone cool, which is definitely a good use case for vent mounts in the summer

Second, with the metal plate, my Samsung S-Case (clear folding cover case) stopped working properly.

Her case is a little heavier than mine but it still works fine

the case is nice .

I Have mine is in a spigen tough armor case and because of the kickstand and fingerprint scanner my choice of placement was also limited no where near the middle of the phone though it's described as being compatible with these cases in the description.

You'd need a smooth case without any bumps on the outside.

The magnet is strong enough to hold up my LG G4 with case without issue and installation was really easy

Was able to hold my s8+ even through a defender case.

It has enough magnetic grab to securely hold my heavy Samsung S6 that is in a rubber case with a protective metal case around it.

I have a thick rubbery case that is already magnetized and it worked without having to use the additional magnetized plates

Unfortunate as I've been a fan of Spigen but which is not acceptable

I love this mount and as of today this is my second purchase

Most hours of the day, the sunlight's reflection dazzled me, so I couldn't really see whats on the screen.
