I would not get this case, I've had it since September and it has been dropped a couple of times and the back glass of the my phone is shattered; it has terrible drop protection

The worst design flaw in this case is that there actually is a button to depress to activate Bixby, they would have done much better to make that button hidden under the hard shell of the case to begin with.

The other flaw is the kick stand is very cheap and could be designed better so it supports both horizontal and vertical positions

It's softer TPU on the inside and smooth hard plastic on the outer color layer.

Also, the case can protect the phone if it's dropped flat on its face because the top and bottom edges stick out slightly, but still reveal the side edges so that you can swipe the screen edges when you need to and the plastic makes it much easier to grip than just holding the phone by itself

The edges are hard yet soft plastic that it absorbs the impact

Overall, better than a lame, plastic clear one to show off the color of my phone and much better than some "fun" teal case I got before that lacked protection

Nearly as thin as this thing, but a much more secure and protective 2 piece plastic shell that snaps around the phone, like my old Otter Box did with my old HTC.

Hard shell portion of case is warped or defective in one corner.

The biggest plus though is the design... slim and allows for a screen to fit without any issue which I have been hard pressed to find with any other cover

The bixby button is also rigged so it makes accidental presses much less likely
